Expensive

Recommended Posts

This was written to be a song, I was listening to alot of Stone Temple Pilots when I wrote this. I recorded it on an 8-track with a band called Set-Up who sounded really good, but I never got to play with them because they decided to go the rap/311 sound and ditched the cool smoothe grunge sound/rock sound. Anyways, here is my song:D

Expensive

{verse 1}

Passed by the lots the lost impared,

broken by the bones were sold and shared,

lost in a vision was the mission,

could'nt explain why the planes were missing

not the fault of the flawed invention

not the worst of my best intentions

inside I hear a voice ringin'

was the fat lady singin'?

{chorus}

Feeling so indecisive,

one more push and I might give,

one last breath and I might live...

...and shine through tomorrow,

one last act for the last show,

take a bow for the sorrow,

one more push and I might go,

too expensive to swallow!

{verse 2}

One last twist to turn away,

one last word that saved the day,

magic numbers numeric pictures,

broken bottles and boring lectures,

puncture wounds and mobile homes,

sunlight shadows casting stones,

something left from the night before,

something left from the life before,

{chorus x 2}

Feeling so indecisive,

one more push and I might

one more breath and I might live...

...and shine through tomorrow!

One last act for the last show,

take a bow for the sorrow,

one more push and I might go,

too expensive to swallow!

(verse 3)

Wilderness wanders weeping willows

through the woods and under pillows

pulling down into the mud

passing through a passing flood

standing alone on top of the flame

salvation gets you once again

where ever the wind may blow

the others will follow

{chorus x 2}

Feeling so indecisive,

one more push and I might

one more breath and I might live...

...and shine through tomorrow!

One last act for the last show,

take a bow for the sorrow,

one more push and I might go,

too expensive to swallow!

I guess no one saw The Whole 9 yards

funny movie Bruce Willis \ Mathew Perry

anyhow thank you Groovy for acknowledging

the death and passing of a legend.

and I am not sure what the 311 is?

but rap (good) rap is hard to find

the rest of it is just silly pimp\hype

fool\house stuff. all these kids going

fight the power and worrying about their

sneakers, and shooting each other for

a cigarette, while I know I don't want

to die just yet.

Yeah I got burned out on that whole rap movement too. I might listen to a little Eminem once in a while for ****s and giggles, but I got burned out on the whole the bragging and dissing issue. I think the Death of Tupac pretty much somed up all the reasons I stopped listening to rap. Not that I ever liked him, just that he lived what he was rapping about, and in the end it destroyed him. Someone once said, "whatever you fill your head up with eventually you will become." I fill my head up with Star Wars, so maybe I will become a stormtrooper or whatever.

Of course the best htiman movie has got to be Grosse Pointe Blank. I haven't seen the Whole Nine Yards but I guess I will soon. Did you know that "The whole nine yards" as an expression refers to cement measurements? When you order cement, a full measurement is nine square yards. That's why they say it. I guess the reason the mob used it refers to the whole "cement shoe" thing.

Hear Hear, I also would need to hear the music man. like I post Oingo Boingo songs, but unless you are a fan the lyrics lose some (a lot) of their magic. and Grosse Point was amazing! especially watching Joan try to crack up her brother John on purpose. they may even doa GP2 but John said a good script would need to surface first.

so Groovy man post or provide an mp3 dude!

I see where you are all coming from now, having written and performed the song dozens of times, it means something differnt to me, than it does for the rest of you, so it does not at all have the same effect. I misplaced the demo, but I do have the four-track demo the band did when they made that song. (I added the lyrics about a week later.) Worse case scenario, is I may have to hook up the four track and just do it again. How do I post MP3s anyway?

Oingo Boingo was definitely a band to get exited about in the 80's. I too was moved by there songs, IMO they should have outlived The Cure. Instead they changed they're name to Boingo, bad move. They have produced some good stuff even recentley. My favorite artist is and always shall be David Bowie.

I too love David Bowie,

and Oingo Boingo changed their name

to Boingo, but only for 2 albums.

they did that when they dropped

the cotingency of horns they played with.

when they went back to the full band

line up they went back to Oingo Boingo

but then also they started up as

The Mystic Knights Of The Oingo Boingo.

mp3's can be uploaded onto any site

if you have an FTP program

or the site has an automatic one.

ie: geocities has an easy upload

with a max of 5mb files.

if you post an mp3 as an mp3

usually what happens is

if people left click on it,

the mp3 loads online and plays for them.

but if you right click on it,

you then can download it.

if you want them to download it for sure

then place the mp3 into a zip file

and it will be downloadable.

if you don't know the html

for a download file it is the following:

<*a href="http://www.websitehere.com/filename.zip"*> leaving out the * as they are only there so you can see the code. also be sure to place a line of text or a button which makes a hot link to the file.

also having high speed internet helps.

razor lame is a great program to convert wav's to mp3's and the larger the quality

the larger the file. razor lame's default setting is 44mhz 128bit joint stereo

but you can go up to something like 320

or as low as 64 or something.

quality of music changes as you go up or down the scale.

I dug the song out of moth balls and realized I left out a verse. (I was typing from memory, sorry) So I updated it. I will have to re-record the song, because i can't find the damn demo. Thats organization isnt it? I do have the music without the vox. Gimmie some time, and I'll post it as soon as I can.
