Jedi_Monk
Has anyone read the Infinities comics? They take an episode of the OT and change one thing that sends the entire story off in a new direction. For instance, in the A New Hope Infinities, Luke's proton torpedo doesn't detonate in the Death Star, Leia is captured and turned to the Dark Side by Vader, Han takes Luke to Dagobah to be trained by Yoda, Yoda gets aboard the Death Star and uses a Jedi Mind Trick to convince Tarkin to ram Coruscant with the superweapon. These things are EU at its best... not even trying to appear canonical. Anyway, think back to the alternative ending of Jedi Knight. Kyle Katarn turns to the Dark Side, kills Jan and becomes Emperor with Sariss as his strong right-hand. Of course, this storyline is never explored in the expansion pack (at least as far as I know...), and it certainly doesn't impact Jedi Outcast. I know that if Kyle was the new Emperor, it'd completely screw up the EU (big sob there), yadda, yadda, yadda... But... what if the next game in the series followed the Infinities' example, decided to tweek the story and show us what would happen if Kyle really had become Emperor? Imagine it, fighting Luke Skywalker to the death... hunting down Rebel leaders like Han, Leia, Chewie and Lando... tearing through ranks of Rebel soldiers and stowing aboard Mon Cal cruisers and cleaning them out. Even attack the Jedi Temple along with an army of Dark Jedi, Sariss by your side, and annhilating the New Jedi Order? Now, that would be a great game! nova_wolf
I REALLY have to find these. I take it they are comic, not book form - prefer the books... Have seen TESB - Leia is taken to dagobah and trained to be a Jedi in that one, from what I saw flicking through it...
Katarn07
Where as Kyle, Dark Emperor, you get to... 1) Go through a Rebel hideout on Nar Shaddaa and grip a bunch of citezens and recapture the Crow from Rebel thugs 2) Travel through Rebel mines on Ruusan and journey down to a Rebel base deep below and rendevous with Sariss 3) Fight Luke Skywalker and Max (from Sam and Max) to the death with Sariss at your side 4) After destroying Luke from destroying the Valley, get to the Valley catacombs and take on the 6 Dark Jedi you had killed in JK, all at once... It was fun. Max was the hardest part. Let Sariss handle Luke as you kill the evil Bunny, then Force-push Sariss outta harms way as you take on Luke. There is a Dark Emperor 2, not by the same author, and not as high a rating...
