savman
Right, I'm a bit of a newbie here so tell me if this point has been raised before: Is it in any-way possible to make your SP character a shadowtrooper and be able to turn invisibilty on and off? there must be some way of doing it! If so, is it possible to give any character the same effect??? Let me know, Thanks
ksk h2o
making the model you use into a shadowtrooper is easy. Extrtact the shadowtrooper folder from the assets0.pk3 and put it into a file hierarchy that goes /models/players/kyle/ then edit the skin files to point to the new path (not necessary actually but would be cleaner). zip the models folder you created up and rename it to shadowtooper_sp.pk3. As for the cloacking... well sorry but no way that I know. In mp the thing is essentially the mindtrick force but in sp the force behaves differently. Lord Tnuc
I think simply because it is in sp, then there should be a way. Maybe using shaders or something?
r2003p
I think that if you give your character the "Shadowtrooper" class, then they will become invisible when not pursuing you. I tried this with one of my characters and it worked ok. As for controlled invisibility, i don't know. Good Luck and may the force be with you! CrevisX9
And how might i give my character the shadow trooper class?
Darth Vader III
By editing the npcs.cfg, I guess...
Orbitäl
You will be invisible when ur not near enemies, or not 'spotted' by them? Also, I take it there isn't currently a scriptable way to switch model in SP? i.e. Mace unrobed, Mace robed.
Samuel Dravis
i think you need to make a new shader to do that....i believe that someone has already done that though. check around the DL sites, and search the forums. its probably around here somewhere......... CrevisX9
ok i changed my players class to shadowtrooper and it did nothing so i guess getting the invisibility is a lost cause. But does anybody know where the items cfg file is? Ive looked in both assests0/1 and i couldnt find it. Also does anybody know where trainers are? I used to have a tainer that gave unlimeted force power and items ect..
Hekx
http://www.jk2files.com/file.info?ID=9724 Cloakable Shadowtrooper. All the file is, is two skins, and you can switch between them. You don't get the swoosy cloaking effect though, unless the author packaged it wrong. That's the closest so far. I think the SP source-code is needed for adding it into MP? Sam Fisher
But does anybody know where the items cfg file is? assets0.pk3/ext_data/items.dat i don't know if this will help...
Orbitäl
Yes the "Cloakable Shadowtrooper" works fine in MP. The question is, is there anyway to use it in SP? Now I know you can be the shadowtrooper OR the cloaked shadowtrooper (Just replace kyle), but is there anyway at all to use both. In other words be shadowtrooper who can cloak at will? ^-$1,000,000 question there.
Samuel Dravis
to be completly invisible, (not to bots/npcs) just type into the console 'G_THIRDPERSONALPHA 0' it has an interesting effect when you turn on volumetric shadows.
Orbitäl
Pretty neat, except its cg_thirdpersonalpha What I did (tested in Ladder 2) was bind a key like so: bind , "helpusobi 1; cg_thirdpersonalph 0.2; notarget" (for "cloaked") & bind . "cg_thirdpersonalpha 1.0; notarget; helpusobi 0" (for "Uncloaked") I guess this is the closest I can hope for to what I want :\
