Player model questions, PLEASE READ!

Well I made a model in gmax and I can't get it ingame with just gmax as all of you modelers out there know. I have a friend with 3D Studio Max and he can help me get it ingame but I need a complete list of plugins and files I'll need and any info on steps that are required!

Alright here's what i use:

 

-3D studio max 4.x

-Raven's XSI plugin found in the 1st tool pack

-Carcass (in toolpack)

-Modview (in toolpack)

-Notepad

-Winzip

-Spacemonkey's tutorial

-Lots of MP3 and patience ;P

 

That's pretty much it.

 

Steps:

-Create the dir structure for my player (base/models/players)

-Add _humanoid.gla and carcass.exe

-Install raven's toolpack in there (base/tools)

 

-Build the mesh as one object (or the least possible) around the skeleton.

-UVW map

-Segment the model into required body parts

-Weight the tags to the skeleton (i re-use a skeleton i already weighted the tags to.)

-Do the caps (those can be done after the weighting)

-Weight the body parts/caps

-Link the hierarchy

-Export it to XSI

-Keep my fingers crossed and send the model thru carcass

 

-Create the .skin file

-Load modview and check for proper mesh deformation

-Go back to max and fix weighting (i ususally have very little to fix)

 

Once i'm satisfied with results, i pack everything up and try it in-game.
