Who do YOU think darth malak is?

One thing I would like to add to your accurate description to the timeline is that Bane was the first to use the title of Darth. And since he created the Sith Code of one master and apprentice all Sith Lords after him carried on his legacy as Darth.

But that has changed now as well, has it not? Malak has named himself Darth Malak, thus Bane doesn't seem to be the first Darth after all...

In that sense, I stand corrected. But to try and recover from an obvious brain fart:eek: , one can say the the title of Darth was really more "meaningful" after Bane since he created the most important Sith Coda in the history of the Sith, which subsequently brought about the first downfall of the Jedi Order. How is that for a recovory:cool:

Seriously though I am a little peeved that the title didn't orginate with Bane. It just made sense since he is an important figure in Sith lore. And again I can not wait to see what Bioware will do with Malaak. How will Malaak fit into the timeline? How important, if at all, was he to the Sith Order? Man this game can not come any sooner for me!

as it have been stated in this topic, bane and kun lived 3000 years apart.

when ki adi mundi says in episode 1 "impossible! the sith have been extinkt for a milenium!"

he refers to the mind bomb in the valley of the jedi, were darth bane is the sole sith survivor.

but as to there being 1 dark lord of the sith at the time of kotor i guess there is.

but of what i have read there are some sort of sith council on korriban, much like the jedi council in the jedi tempel.

but there is probobly an ultimate ruler of the sith but there are council members and they all bear the name darth something i think.

Darth Malak just sounded better so they used it, although this is a small aspect that goes against cannon.

even with thousands of sith theirs still the head sith and the second.

Not to contradict the timeline, Lucasfilm can always say that Bane got the name from Malaak. If so then we sould expect Malaak to be one bad ass Sith Lord. :D

Not after the Great Sith War of Exar Kun and Ulic-Qel Droma. After their fall there was no Sith. It will take the next two to three millineum to amass what they had during the Golden Age of the Sith. Hence the brotherhood of the Sith during the battle of Russan one thousand years before episode I.

Mmmm, I did a check-up in the New Essential Guide to Characters, and here's a small tidbit in Darth Bane's biography...

Finding his own apprentice on Onderon, Bane committed the Sith Order to secrecy and began the tradition that would hand the name darth to each of his successors.

Take it as you will... of course, the NEGtC was published way before any information about KotR and its villains was released. I thought at first that perhaps Malak would be the only Darth in existance, but it seems that Revan also called himself Darth Revan before his apparant death(I really am not that sure that he's dead). Interesting enough, Malak would be called Darth Malak after his death, or so it would seem. It could be explained that there would be only one Darth in existance in Revan and Malak's Sith Order.

Then again, maybe I'm looking way too much into it, and should just move on :p

I know what you mean. It is rather perplexing how Lucasfilm didn't catch that one. But like I said earlier, Since they really didn't go into great detail about Bane's prior history before the Battle of Russan (In the comic book series Jedi Vs. Sith) they can easily explain Bane just got the name from a prior Sith Order. You know the more I talk about this the more I can not wait for this game to come out. Its driving me crazy.

Yes but as stated before, Bane took the title Dark Jedi and Sith and made Darth, so maybe just maybe its possible that he existed during this time as well, I doubt it though. However they slipped up.

Kun and Ulic were before this, Revean and Malak led the jedi but they used the dangerous sith Knowledge to help them win the mandalore war, then they took the titles as they fully restored the sith order i guess
