Since it is sky, it's drawn behind everything, so the answer is no, you can't easily make things don't appear behind your brush with the sky shader on it.

 

If your things behind your sky brush are far enough (the distancecull value what of the worldspawn matters here) then they will be not drawn.

 

For skies look at http://www.planethalflife.com/wadfather. There are lots of q3 compatible skies which you can use.

Alrighty I registered now I need to know which icon should I click to download from wadfather theres a whole bunch of them. I know ones for unreal tournament and theres one for half-life what are all the others? And how am I to go about putting the sky texture in my map?
