Jedi Apprentice Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 Does anyone know of any good, free picture morphing programs. I checked out download.com but they either didn't get good ratings or they weren't free. I thought some of the technical guru's here might be able to help me out. Thanks!
FunClown Posted February 22, 2003 Posted February 22, 2003 You can try the Gimp. Its free. Go to http://www.gimp.org . This program is pretty much on par with Photoshop in my opinion. I even created a lightsaber from it using an image from the movies where he is just holding that stick placeholder which is used from the filming. Don't know if there is anyway to upload it.
Guest Jed Posted February 22, 2003 Posted February 22, 2003 You won't be able to find any good software you're looking for if it's free. That Gimp looks nice, but nothing will beat a good program. I'd suggest going for Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0, it's only $89 bucks and has enough stuff in it for you to be happy for a long time.
Lord Glorfindel Posted February 22, 2003 Posted February 22, 2003 But if u have some more dough, get Photoshop 7 or 6, they both rock!!!! Though Photoshop Elements is a nice program, and cheaper. Photoshop though is definetly the best morphing and picture editing program I have EVER used.

If you have the cash, definitely go for the full versions. They are very nice, easy to use, and you'll have some swanky pictures to boot.

Jedi Apprentice Posted February 23, 2003 Author Posted February 23, 2003 Never mind guys, I found a really good program. Morpheus. It's pretty cheap too.
Lord Glorfindel Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 Originally posted by Jedi Apprentice Morpheus. It's pretty cheap too. LOL Make sure u get the version that comes with ImageReady, cause u can make some kick bum animated GIF's with ImageReady.
Jedi Apprentice Posted February 24, 2003 Author Posted February 24, 2003 Too bad it doesn't create file sizes small enough for avatars.
Lord Glorfindel Posted February 24, 2003 Posted February 24, 2003 Originally posted by Jedi Apprentice Too bad it doesn't create file sizes small enough for avatars. I use ImageReady for most of my avatars, thats what I used for my current Avatar. ImageReady is a great avatar maker.
Jedi Apprentice Posted February 24, 2003 Author Posted February 24, 2003 I've searched for places to get it at. Lord Glorfindel-- Can you give me a link to the site to get it? Thanks.
Lord Glorfindel Posted February 25, 2003 Posted February 25, 2003 U said u got *cough* Morpheus *cough* downloading *cough* software *cough* right? Most versions of Photoshop comes with the program ImageReady. Well, anyways if u have photoshop but don't know if u have ImageReady. Go to explorer and go to the Photoshop folder and when ur there look for a file called ImageReady.exe (it usually doesn't have .exe at the end but it sometimes shows up, depending on what operating system u have) it should have a little artistic looking icon. OR u could press CTRL-SHIFT-M, while in Photoshop, and then ImageReady loads up and u can start right there, creating Animations.
Jedi Apprentice Posted February 25, 2003 Author Posted February 25, 2003 Just searched for it, but didn't come up with anything. I think I have enough programs though.....(Hannibal:D )

Jedi Apprentice Posted February 25, 2003 Author Posted February 25, 2003 Originally posted by Lord Glorfindel Are u looking up Photoshop or ImageReady? ImageReady. Wouldn't that be kind of wierd if I just found Photoshop on my computer?
Lord Glorfindel Posted February 26, 2003 Posted February 26, 2003 Originally posted by Jedi Apprentice Wouldn't that be kind of wierd if I just found Photoshop on my computer? That would be weird.BTW, ImageReady needs Photoshop in order to work cause in ImageReady u use some of the tools in Photoshop, so my suggestion is to download Photoshop, cause its worth downloading anyways, and see if ImageReady comes with the downloaded Photoshop, which I am 80% percent sure it does. good luck et peut la force être avec vous.
