Parker Posted February 27, 2003 Share Posted February 27, 2003 Greetings from Liberalis (a Star Wars Galaxies community) Liberalis is a player run city that was created on the gamefaqs.com boards in July of 2002. Though our community has been through many changes since then, its core principles have remained unchanged. They are as follows; Liberalis is a city that opens its doors for PA's, Factions and people of every background to come and live. Though there are rules, instituted by a single Government, for the citizens to follow, they will not be restrictive ones. The Government is not only in existence to establish some kind of order, it's in existence to create professions for its citizens. Military personal (combat medics, Squad leader etc..) and Politicians (council member, see representatives below) are examples of professions that our system will create once player run cities are implemented by the devs. Through a voting process, on our older boards, we came up with a council of seven representatives for our government. Five of these representatives represent all of the professions available in the game. All of the available professions have been compiled into 5 categories. Each category has professions of similar stature compiled with them. For ex; Droid engineers and Melee Weapon Smith's would be placed into the crafting category. People in their respective category can post their concerns to their representative, who will then relay these concerns to the council. If people in a certain category aren't pleased with their rep, he or she can be easily replaced through a new vote. We will hold elections every four months or so, to ensure that new people can have the opportunity to represent their peers. The two other council seats in our gov't are that of the Mayor and the People's Rep. The Mayor is considered the leader of the community. He or she really doesn't have any power over anyone else, though they will be the ones granted with the special abilities once player run cities becomes available. The People's Rep is the spokesperson for the citizens. He or she serves as another outlet for those seeking council, and or wishing to give suggestions and comments. The Rep brings these subjects to the rest of the governing body. Council of Seven: (here are the city representatives) Mayor: GtheMVP/Gordon Brave Military Head: Karn Silver Service Head: RagnorRock Crafting Head: Spo777 Architect Head: Goku Head Diplomat: Admiral Ackbar People's Representative: Parker We feel that this system best gives the people a voice, without clogging those not wishing to speak. Of course, nothing good ever remains static. We are always looking to improve. Your input is not only welcome, it's encouraged. Well, a tip: when you are out recruiting people for your city, post what server you are planning to play at, since a lot of people (like me) already (well, 98% sure, at least) has decided which server to play at.
