    • Its better if they didn't....It would be a pain to have to try and select them if they did.

    • NO WAY! Ease-of-use over Visual appeal any day! I don't have time to waste trying to select a group of X-Wings!

Yeah it looks awesome how they do that, adds to coolness. But they need a cool way to select the planes again like what was used in real war.

bomb runs and "strife" basically mean the same thing.......you know in starcraft the carrel ? well the aircraft move like the carrel....what i mean by "strifing" is that they move more like the intercepters (aircraft that come out of the carrel.....)

I must agree with this statement.

We dont want Starcraft Wraith fighters. The AoE engine is a fluid gamestyle, not stop and go. I love Starcraft, but I am expecting a game where every shot taken is not a shot scored. AoE 2 had an obvious margin of error with projectiles like arrows and mangonels. I am sure that if the fighters are stop and go the accuracy will not have the realism that AoE had.

Yeah I think they looked fine too, but what is that green thing the bombers shoot out? I think its supposed to be their bombs but it don't look like no bomb to me that I have seen in Star Wars.

I think it is an energy bomb. Similar to the one in ESB, but that one is blue.

I think it would be more fluid if the Bombers straifed, but them hovering is fine by me.

I should say make the aircraft fly the same way as in SW: force commander now that would really look cool just think of the dogfights

I totally agree Jedi.

Air craft that don't strife? Whats that? Its not like you can simply stop at high speeds, unload your payload, and boot off again only to stop another square away.

Come on Lucas Arts, watch any of the movies, play Rogue Squadron, play Force Commander and fix those Air Units.

*Shudders*

This is the kind of annoyance that separates great games from good ones. Especially with Star Wars, details and whatever SW Realism there is, is important.

The rest looked good, but I would have never imagined a TIE Fighter stopping and firing. TIEs are meant to be slick and fast, one of the reasons they have **** shields is that they rely on quick maneuvers to dodge fire. That and they are cheap cannon fodder.

Please, please don't make me look at a TIE Intercetor, in all its beauty, STOP, and SHOOT. No!!!!

Actually....they can stop and hover like that, they are called repulsorlift drives.

OK

But what pilot stops, fires, and lets himself be pinged by anti aircraft fire?

:tie: "I'm not a sitting duck. I use speed to survive. Dont make me stationary. Let me strafe.

:vsd: "If I were here, I could afford to not move while firing, because I have the luxury of huge shielding, casing, and offensive firepower."

Honestly, there should be a patch or fix up in the way the aircraft maneuver when firing. In all of that SW coverage I have seen, fighter craft strafe.

from a previous thread...someone said:

sitting there dropping bombs in front of u is gonna get u killed, flying past might reduce the chances of getting shot down.

i said: flying around will not reduce the chance of getting you shot down...you WILL NOT get shot down..cause the missles dont trace..then everyone would complain about this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Strife???

ITS STRAFE!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry

Um yeah, if aircraft dont strafe it will be disapointing, very disapointing

Like everyone else has said, who else but crazy pilots stop their aircraft to fire?

Would U stop your fighter to shoot at something when there are hostiles around?

Its like standing still in a quake 3 rail match

Bad idea
