I think we should find ideas to make the forum(this part) more interesting to everyone who comes. I would also like to ask if we can do any (OFF TOPIC) threads. I don't know if we can do that. I tought we could mark any off topic thread in this part with a big (OFF TOPIC) in the title of the thread. I don't know if we can still do that...
swphreak Posted April 5, 2003 Posted April 5, 2003 We could announce: "Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds 2: Galactic Domination," and watch everyone flock over here and increase the current 300% bandwidth use to 500% and the forums can be even slower! Muwahahahahahahahahahahahaha ok, seriously. What could we do? there's like 15 of us total that post HERE.... Maybe we should get together and play games to keep us alive..... I don't want this to turn into another Swmp or aReSeN...

I was just thinking if we could keep the 15 of us(like phreak said) here for a long enough time, we might be ale to keep the forum alive...until some time.

It is kinda of a downer when DarthMaul posted his that post that said LA had no plans of releasing a sequel to it right now. The project was only Garry Gaber related. Sorta stinks they are releasing Rogue Squadron 2 and Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy but " NO Galactic Battlegrounds sequel within the next 6 months". Oh well! I guess Star Wars strategy games don't sell has good as the other games. Let's hope Garry Gaber comes out with a new strategy genera Star Wars game before this forums dies. I guess I noticed most of the forumers are in JediKnight II, Roguesquadron or Galaxies.

This is the only web forum I post on now because of the close-knit group. I fully support the (OFF TOPIC) idea, it keeps the community together without forcing us into another forum (making this forum even more dead).
joesdomain Posted April 6, 2003 Posted April 6, 2003 I thought this game was amazing myself. I never played strategies games till this came out. It was the first time you could truely play as a civilization and play out a star wars battle. Especially since all of lucasarts games except for rogue squadron and Jedi knight have been prequel trilogy games. Plus Force Commander did not do well. Rebellion was ok but didn't do that well either. Hopefully, the Garry Gaber project is a Space combat version of Galactic Battlegrounds similar to idea of Rebellion. That would be cool.

joesdomain Posted April 6, 2003 Posted April 6, 2003 What we really need to revive this forum is official news from Lucasarts.com and/or Garry Gaber saying there is an official Galactic Battlegrounds sequel or a Star Wars RTS game coming out in the future? I don't understand. Full Throttle II and Sam and Max Hit the Road 2 was announced over 1 year before it is being released on Lucasarts.com. I think they did the same for Galaxies: An Empire Divided. Why can't they do that for a Star Wars RTS game or whatever Garry is working on? It is all politics! LOL!

I live in EST time zone, and on weekdays, I can play anytime between 3 to 5 usually., and on Weekends... anytime in the afternoon and Friday/Sat all night most of the time. I think playing during the weekday will be hard because people get stuff to do. Maybe we should get a "Forum Party" thing going every saturday.

Phreak, I live in EST as well, but usually can't play until like 8 or 9 (3 sports+homework really eat into your free time:(). But I can usually play anytime in the evening on Sat and Fri. Simwiz has no life, so he can usually play whenever.
