Howdy, Ike! Been awhile... ;)

Well, actually Tantive IV was the name of the Correllian corvette that Darth Vader captured with his star destroyer at the very beginning of the very first Star Wars movie ('Episode Four: A New Hope' in today's nomenclature.) The Tantive ships were four corvettes purchased by the government of Alderaan for use in courier missions...and occassionally to help the Rebel Alliance (which is why they are more commonly known as rebel blockade runners.)

My land yacht was built in 1976, the same year that movie came out. So I call mine Tantive III, the rebel ship the Empire didn't get. :D

Actually, there were five or six, IIRC. They made an appearance in the original X-Wing game, when the player has to take part in the operation that transmits the plans to Capt. Antilles' ship.

All the Tantives were holding steady in formation, when the player's X-wing decants from hyperspace. You scan each ship until you find the one with Leia aboard, then a shuttle hypers in to make the dropoff.

The Invincible appears instantly, and the group scatters. Exactly how Vader managed to pick out which of the craft had received the transmission (and how he knew exactly where they were headed, to intercept them at Tatooine) is left as a mystery.

Interesting. I have X-Wing, but never got very far into it.

I know Tantive III made it. :D It's sitting right here, docked in the semi-primitive woodlands of Oregon.

I don't think I mentioned that the ship has a crew of four kitties. They're pretty good at standing watch, although they don't know yet what to make of the natives. The other morning, crewman Bebee woke me up with a concerned meow to report that there was a deer off the starboard bow.

Bebee had neber seen a deer before. "It's a big damn dog," I told her. "It eats cats." Then I went back to sleep...

That's pretty much the same thing my cat thought about cows.

I was walking with him around our cottage (near a farm). When he spotted one cow, he decided he did not want to mess with that thing.

When he realized there was a whole field full of them, he sprinted for home as fast as I'd ever seen him move.

Court martial a rabbit? Hmm. :dozey:

Where have I been? Well...I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. Maybe better left unknown.

Beastie, interesting you should bring up kitties and cows. Crewman Oreo has been harrassing the cow next door. I saw her stalking it (from a good fifty feet away, mind you) in the tall grasses, but I never saw her rush it. I suspect it looked bigger the closer she got. :D

There is a rabbit on campus. There is a rabbit on campus.

All pilots, report to your fighters immediately. And stay there.

I was on my way to the caf (to meet an incredibly kawaii blonde for dinner :hearteye: ) from the site of my last exam, when a small, long-eared brown creature charged out of the bushes, raced across a driveway (in front of a car, no less) and skidded to a halt, eyeing me curiously. This was in the middle of campus, right near the old dorms.

On the way home (1.5 hrs. later), I tried to contact the Confederation Park Warren (a.k.a. Watership Downtown) to report, but no one answered. More updates as they become available.
