Shotokan
if you do an it still doesnt work, check to see if the underside is dirty. if it is, dip a cloth (NOT PAPER TOWEL KINE ) an wipe the bottom.

Hekx
Clean out the registry and then try and reinstall ..and if that doesn't work and you have multiple CD drives.. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\LucasArts Entertainment Company LLC\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\1.0] "CDPath"="D:" "Source Path"="D:" "Source Dir"="D:\\" If you open up a RegEdit, you should be able to change these values so it reads from your CD drive which should hopefully fix it. If you are unable to do that, I might be able to export a .reg file with the values in so you can open it and merge it into the System Registry. Hawkwings
well, I know I have more than 1 CD drive, so I'll just skip thaat first step. I checked the registry values. They're good. The only one that was different was "Source Dir"="D:\\", where I have "D:\" instead of "D:\\". still doesn't work...
Hekx
Have you had any other problems with the drive lately? Is there an exclamation mark near the icon in the Device Manager? (My Computer > Right-click > Properties > Device Manager) Have you also tried a clean install? Uninstall JKII. Scan the registry for invalid JKII enteries]Cleaned the Registry. Installed the game, once more. Updated the game with the 1.04 patch.

mythren
Check to see if your CD-ROM drive can read any other CD's... My personal opinion? He's lookin' for a NO-CD hack in a more polite manner...I could be wrong though...so don't take it as anything personal - I call 'em like I see 'em . If all else fails, dig up the reciept (you keep those, dontcha?) and go return it .
Hawkwings
you're absolutely right. I *could* be looking for a no-CD crack. Then again, why would I ask here, of all places? this *is* the first community site on the JK2 website. besides, as I learned from my friend, who's computer recently got fried, no-CD cracks often cause... unwanted side effects... mythren
Hey...good point. I was just callin' it like I saw it - but ask around, I see it wrong a lot .
Andy867
Yea, usually the NO-CD cracks cause unwanted game errors like an error in CS_ENTITYPACKETS or something like that. What I did when I had the same problem even without the NO-CD crack, I did a clean uninstall with REGCLEANER, I then installed the game to the default directory, and I made sure in the REGCLEANER to remove any reference to the NO-CD patch which I didn't use(AHEM) and I did a clean install with the game.. Also, are you using a back-up copy or the original disc.
