Uhh, whether you can dodge rockets or not, one is eventually going to get through regardless of your skill. The Homing Bug increases the chance of getting hit approximately 4 fold AND can be used twice as much. In total you will be getting killed about 8 times more than you should be.

8 times as many deaths per target (from the cheaters pov) is an easy win, end of story.

I don't really mind that bug that much since it makes the game more fast paced and more challenging for myself. :D I do find the homing rockets pretty useless since it moves soooo sloooow. Hmmm. I dunno, how would you guys feel if the primary takes one rocket, and the secondary homing rocket takes two rockets but moves the same speed as the primary?

It's easy to do and although it won't seem to make a huge difference in a pub FFA, where you see it have an enormous impact is in 2v2 or 1v1 ladder/league type matches.

In a 1v1 someone doing it over and over can simply dominate with very little effort especially if they have a quick change script to make the activation of the bug even faster.

Yeah, this is how creator beat staind, even though staind is a vastly superior player.

Are you that dense, or did you just not read his post? The homing rocket bug lets the "cheater" get eight times as many kills per person. It's not some little extra "challenge", it's totally ****ing unfair.

Ouch... Harsh! 1st off, don't go around calling people dense just because they have a different view. Everyone is entitled to their OWN opinion. And YES, I did read DeTRiTiC-iQ's post. But let me clarify where I'm coming from and what I meant.

I usually play CTF and nothing else. Yes, fraggin people gives me enjoyment but there is also the element of a "challenge for myself" as I stated in my previous post. By challenge I mean that I don't mind being targeted with a homing missle once in a while going at normal speed. Hey, it happens. By being homed, Yes, I'm more likely to be killed but it makes me find different ways of evading them and in the process, I become a stronger player.

The point is, staind is one of the best gunners in the game (i'm talking literally here) he's up there with Buffeh/Narbes and Nutritious. If exploiting ONE bug can make a poor player beat him with ease than what chance does everyone else have?

Of course evading the rocket bug is a personal challenge, but most players prefer a good all-round game instead of one player dominating it.

I pretty much only play CTF, the rocket bug is EXTREMELY unfair on flag carriers, since once you've made it back to your own base you are usually out of force, it just takes one fast-moving bug-exploiting player to chase them down and take an easy shot which can't miss.

yolkboy if the community doesn't take the unanimous view that the bug is a bad thing (and that means you too) then eventually almost everyone will use it, and i've SEEN what it can do in the hands of a good player.

/agree

Plus if i remeber correct once you get the homer lock on the target, it stays on them even if they go round a coner... no hide for you, plus all they have to do is wait tell they get a good shot and fire...

Edit: anyways this cheat takes the fun out of my rocket playing.... blind panic shooting every where lol.

I see your point. And Yes, I'm with all of you guys that the bug is a bad thing and I hope they correct this in jk3. :)
