Burrie
I was thinking more along the lines of a bastila-carth romance. oh well Och, mayhaps they'll get it on with each other if the player doesn't show any interest Even better, mayhaps there'll be a three-way relationship, kinda like with Luke, Han and Leia in the Original Trilogy. Burrie
lol... but leia and luke were related... maybe bastila will turn out to be ur sister or something weird To be honest, this is one thing that I'd really hate to happen, but I'm still prepared for such a relevation. I'm still 100% positvely sure that I read in an earlier preview something along the likes of "Your sibling being the most strongest Force User in the galaxy, and is being hunted down by the second most strongest Force User, namely the villain". Burrie
Yeep, I hadn't even considered Master Bindo into the equation... I always thought that my original theory wouldn't work, seeing as how Shan would be the only capable Force User... but I guess Bindo *COULD* be your brother. Either way, I hope something like this won't happen. I can remember that the developers recently stated at the official forums that there is a plot twist half-way through the game which is nearly on the same level as "I am your father". I certainly hope this is NOT it. (my personal wacky speculation : I think that Bandon looks suspiciously much looks like what Malak must've been before he underwent all those Sith changes(the pale body, the mechanical mouth device, yadda yadda)... Bandon's a clone of Malak, and mayhaps the player is one as well. Granted, it's horrible, it's trite, it's inconveivable, it's 99.99% guaranteed that it won't happen, but it's fun to speculate about)

Bandon was a student at the Jedi Temple... if he was a clone, Malak would prolly have started him in on Sith training straight without wasting time on all that pesky Jedi stuff... Who says that he hasn't instruced the player to do the same for some reason Granted, it's full of holes, and if I see that plot twist actually occur in the game, I'll quickly look outside to see if pigs aren't flying by as well. Still, it's fun to speculate what this so-called plot twist will be. What is really scary to think about though is that Malak was once a good guy and a Jedi. and so was Revan. What's even more scary is the thought that the same thing could happen to our own characters, and mayhaps Shan as well... Plus, the same thing happened to Ulic Qel-Droma and Exar Kun a few dozen years earlier. Granted, the latter already showed lotsa promise for Dark Side-material, but the comics DO show that he didn't want to go down that path in the first place. That could very well be true... then I just wonder what this 'personal betrayal' that so affected Carth is. Maybe Bandon is his brother or something? What's even more scary is the thought that the same thing could happen to our own characters, and mayhaps Shan as well... Burrie
Maybe Bandon is his brother or something? To be honest, this is one speculation that I really enjoy. If you compare their pictures, they do seem to have SOMETHING in common... If it happens to Shan though... you would hope that she would at some point be able to redeem herself. I would hate to see her fall. My thoughts : Shan will fall to the Dark Side, one way or the other... if the character remains on the light side, he will be able to bring Shan back to the Light Side. If he, however, takes the Dark Side route, Bastilla will be along for the ride. I wonder if this 'most powerful Force user' could be Shan or Bindo... from what I've read it woudl seem to be Shan - considering how powerful she is with the Force and that battle meditation thing... And if we go along with her, she and our character and Malak and everyone will come back leading the Sith army... or *are* there two endings? Burrie
She does seem to be Chosen One material indeed... but you really think she's going to fall don't you? damn. why do you say so? Her bio almost seems to scream "'oi, I'll be going bad, so you'd better watch out". Plus, heroes falling to the Dark Side is Star Wars material. I'm almost as certain that Bastilla will fall to the Dark Side as I am that Jolee Bindo will die halfway through the game. although... maybe... if she falls, and we redeem her, she will bring about the fall of Malak and Bandon and the Sith. My thoughts exactly. And if we go along with her, she and our character and Malak and everyone will come back leading the Sith army... or *are* there two endings? Maybe we'd overthrow Malak or something... There are two endings, one for the Light side and one for the Dark Side. You're right, mayhaps we will overthrow Malak in the end(after all, only one Sith Lord can rule all), and the game will end with our character giving orders for the Sith Fleet to set course for Coruscant, whilst Shan is standing next to him/her. or maybe we'd still accomplish our goal of destroying the Sith, but in the wrong manner... on the dark side...? I don't think we'll destroy the Sith Empire using the Dark side. Still, that brings me to another speculation on Bastilla's fall which came up when they released a picture with Shan firing off some Force Lightning at a few Sith Troopers... mayhaps Bastilla descent into the Dark Side will be just what you said. She wants to fight fire with fire, so she'll resort to using the Dark Side to defeat Malak. Naturally, the grip of the Dark Side is too strong, and she'll join Darth Malak, leaving the party to save Bastilla from the Dark Side.

THAT was RANDOM!!! I wasnt expecting that, lol - though you could be right. I hate to see people die... though i guess it's something that has to be lived with. My thoughts exactly. Which means... either we take the light side, Bastila falls (either just generally or by trying to use dark against dark) and we redeem her... and in doing so both or all of us destroy the Sith... or she falls one of those two ways, but we follow her... either join Malak, or overthrow him and Bandon... as you said no destroying the Sith from the Dark Side which would be what Bastila was trying to do. It does say something to that effect on the official site actually in the bio... Bastila turns every fiber of her being towards defeating the Sith menace and proving herself to the Jedi. No one doubts that she will one day be a great Jedi... but at what cost? i'm sure it's quite possible that in turning every fiber of her being towards defeating the Sith, she turns herself to the Dark Side by using any and every means possible to destroy them. And maybe the cost of becoming a great Jedi is her fall to the Dark side and the death of Bindo? this is far out, i know, but what if she is the one who kills Bindo? if he dies that is... that would be a great cost to pay... I would like to point out Jolee's characteristics.. #1. He's a Jedi Master (ouch) #2. He's in exile and will probably return (kinda like another Jedi Master I know) #3. He will most probably train the player, and thus the main hero of the tale(MAYOR ouch) #4. He might've also had a hand in creating one of the Dark Side apprentices(Bandon, but that's pure speculation) Quite frankly, if you read these points about him, he pretty much has "I'm am SO dead" stamped all over him. That's the way I see it... plus, I would really kinda think that it would go against the whole Star Wars thing if you could defeat evil by being evil. And surely if something like that happens, it must come with a mayor price. i'm sure it's quite possible that in turning every fiber of her being towards defeating the Sith, she turns herself to the Dark Side by using any and every means possible to destroy them. Well... perhaps she's fallen to the dark side, and we go to redeem her, and there's a battle, and Bindo dies... could technically happen... of course there's no way she'd do it while on the light side, but if she's fallen and doesn't know what she's doing... then maybe? and maybe this will be what redeems her...? coming at the end of the game though, not the middle... coz you seem to be almost 100% positive that Bindo will die... and that Bastila will fall... put the two together...? maybe - do you think it's plausible? it isn't something I'd like to see happen... but still. in any case if it did happen it would prolly ruin all chances of your character having a romance with her
Burrie
we ARE referring to Obi-Wan here, right? Yup... although points 1, 3 and 4 can also refer to Qui-Gon Jinn... and we know how he'd end up. It would indeed... lol... considering that you've fallen to the dark side and lost everything... well that's a huge price right there... Well, that would be a huge price, but still... if you could possibly defeat the Sith Empire by using the Dark Side, I really think it would go against Star Wars as a whole... that's prolly why you'll replace(or join forces) with the main villain if you'll go all Dark Side. Well... perhaps she's fallen to the dark side, and we go to redeem her, and there's a battle, and Bindo dies... could technically happen... of course there's no way she'd do it while on the light side, but if she's fallen and doesn't know what she's doing... then maybe? and maybe this will be what redeems her...? coming at the end of the game though, not the middle... To be honest, I'm not quite sure what you mean with that... how will she be redeemed if she has killed Jolee Bindo? Or do you mean that she kills Bindo whilst undergoing her Dark Side stint, realises how far she has fallen, and then redeems herself? Mmmm, that sounds pretty much like what happened to Ulic Qel-Droma, I suppose it could work... although I hope that Shan will return a few dozen hours before the game's end, so that we can still communicate and interact with her character. coz you seem to be almost 100% positive that Bindo will die... and that Bastila will fall... put the two together...? maybe - do you think it's plausible? it isn't something I'd like to see happen... but still. I'm 99% sure that Bindo will die, for reasons given above. As for Bastilla's fall, I really think it will happen, 'tho I wouldn't say that I'm 100% positive about it. More 90% And your theory does sound plausible. in any case if it did happen it would prolly ruin all chances of your character having a romance with her Either that, or it increase your chances... after all, how much does it show the character's love for her if he can forgive her for killing such a noble Jedi? It's kinda like what Ulic Qel-Droma says in Tales of the Jedi : Redemption... Why can't you move on? Bury your dead past-- isn't that what a Jedi Knight would do? Either that, or it increase your chances... after all, how much does it show the character's love for her if he can forgive her for killing such a noble Jedi? It's kinda like what Ulic Qel-Droma says in Tales of the Jedi : Redemption... That is true... very true... Still... I don't like the thought of a dark Bastila who killed Bindo! kinda takes away the pureness of a Jedi... though I wonder what would happen if you're playing a female character and she does that. no romance there... you would think plus... if she's our sister... then no romance period! and maybe the romance would be between her and Carth...? Maybe this would happen in a 'pre-battle' that was orchestrated by Malak... and then we'd continue with her on the final part of the game again to finally defeat Malak... To be honest, the thought of her redeeming herself because she went too far by killing someone close to her reminds me a bit too much of the Tales of the Jedi storyline in which almost the same event happens. Plus, how could you possibly forgive her on the spot when she has just killed your own master? I personally would more like it if Bindo was killed rather early in Shan's stint to the Dark Side. This way, we can almost begin to build up our hatred for her. The developers did state that your character will almost be justified in using the Dark Side, and well... the Republic's hope turning to the Dark Side and killing your mentor kinda sounds like a justified reason to me. Plus, Bindo's ghost might show up from time to time to try and keep you on the Light Side. Mayhaps he'll even have a cameo appearance when Bastilla will slowly return to the Light Side. That is true... very true... Still... I don't like the thought of a dark Bastila who killed Bindo! kinda takes away the pureness of a Jedi... I would like to point out another certain Dark Sider whom killed his own master, went on to destroy millions of people, but in the end was forgiven by his own son who was also a Jedi Knight to begin with... though I wonder what would happen if you're playing a female character and she does that. no romance there... you would think plus... if she's our sister... then no romance period! and maybe the romance would be between her and Carth...? I still doubt wether Bastilla will be your sister... I know that KotOR will parallel on several points with the OT, but this would certainly take things to an extreme level. And I agree, if she is the player's sister to begin with, then please don't start a romance to begin with. Still, it would be kinda neat if Carth and Bastilla will hook up(the three-way relationship I mentioned earlier), or at least some other relationship between two characters in your party. I'm not sure who has played FF8 here, but I really liked the relationship that slowly developed between Irvine and Selphie in the background, and it would be neat to see something like that in KotOR as well. Mmm, I really wouldn't know wether things would work that way easily... in the end, I would want that we'd at least have a choice wether we'd still want Bastilla in our party or not. I'd like it more if you'd confront her, try to talk her to the Light Side... she still refuses, although you can see that she really wants to return. Cue Jolee Bindo's ghost, insert tear-jerking speech, and tada, Bastilla's back to the Light Side. Plus, if she kills Jolee earlier on, that would almost give you a reason to hate Bastilla which could slowly develop throughout the game. A hate which could put your character on the Dark path. Plus, as you begin to chase Bastilla, you could almost be so blurred at a point that you're not sure wether you're following her to redeem her, or to avenge Bindo. Aye, that's what I think as well. Still, it would be nice if the other character would compete for the romance as well. If you're a male, you would have a competition with Carth to gain Bastilla's attention, whilst you'd have a catfight with Bastilla over Carth if you play as a female... and if decide not to pay much/enough attention to the romance, Carth and Bastilla would wind up with each other. jedi3112
I think your actions will affect Bastilla as well, so if you stay light Bastilla will stay light too. From what I've read the first thing you'll need to do is save Bastilla from a crashing starship. I don't know where I read this, but if it's true you and Bastilla will most likely be together all the game. I think the sibling could very well be Darth Malak being hunted by you (or Bastilla as the second Force user). Your character pretty much has 'The Chosen One' written all over him (late for jedi academy maybe the romance with Bastilla/Carth). Malak also pretty much has Lord Vader written on his head (same grey skin, breathing thingy in his mouth, no hair) and Bindo suffers from the Obi-wan theory, once a hero, now aged, a hermit etc. Maybe he dies short while after the destruction of the ship mentioned before (after you get to know him and maybe he gets you in the jedi order), making you and Bastilla having no more mercy on the Sith and therefor giving a push to the dark side (remember Luke or Anakin when Shmy died) BTW does any1 know if you can create multiple characters for your party (in 1 game this is, for example a selfmade wookiee as well as the hero). Burrie
I think your actions will affect Bastilla as well, so if you stay light Bastilla will stay light too. From what I've read the first thing you'll need to do is save Bastilla from a crashing starship. I don't know where I read this, but if it's true you and Bastilla will most likely be together all the game. I believe that from what little information we've had so far, the player himself is on the crashing starship with mayhaps Bastilla on board, although there's been no word of that. Afterwards, you crash on Taris(I believe you see this in the latest trailer), where you'll be ordered to find Bastilla. However, just because you meet her automatically from the start doesn't mean that she'll be with you all through the game. I'm pretty certain that some characters might leave the party at some point in the game, only to return later on. Maybe he dies short while after the destruction of the ship mentioned before (after you get to know him and maybe he gets you in the jedi order), making you and Bastilla having no more mercy on the Sith and therefor giving a push to the dark side (remember Luke or Anakin when Shmy died) Good point on Malak, although I believe the developers first described him as a mix between Maul and Vader. Also, a good point on the player having "Chosen One" all over him... as for Bindo being on the crashed starship, I don't think so. The game pretty much starts in the crashing starship during a huge battle above Taris, and Bindo's somewhere down in Kashyyyk at that point. How and if he dies, that remains a mystery so far... As for Bindo's death being the push for Shan and the PC to the Dark Side... mwaaah, I don't t know. I really hope there'll be something on a much larger grander scale that'll push your character over the edge. BTW does any1 know if you can create multiple characters for your party (in 1 game this is, for example a selfmade wookiee as well as the hero). I think that I can give a postive "NO" on this one. The developers have yet to state anything of the kind, and have so far only reported that you'll be capable of creating but one HUMAN character. KaBuTaR
That's a good point on your character being the Chosen One... though it would seem a bit cliche... but then again if Bastila was the Chosen One it would kinda make you seem secondary... what jedi3112 said seems plausible also... so who knows... maybe bindo will die, maybe not... maybe bastila will fall depending on you, maybe not... maybe she kills bindo, maybe not... guess it all remains just to wait and see... damn xbox! Not if you had to stop the Chosen One from destroying the Galaxy. Remember Luke had to stop his father(Vader) who was the chosen one. They could make it work.
