Fragmaster-B Posted April 25, 2003 Posted April 25, 2003 is it possible to add entities to a model? such as [func_rotateing]??? ty inadvance
sematriclen Posted April 25, 2003 Posted April 25, 2003 um i dont think so because a model is an entity (misc_model) and u can only have one entity on somthing not 2 but maybe u could have a brush with func_rotating and have a system/origin conecting them both together?
Leslie Judge Posted April 25, 2003 Posted April 25, 2003 I don't understand exatly what do you want. If you want to attach one or more misc_model to a func_rotating that is possible if you use q3map2 to compile your map. I didn't try that though, only attaching a misc_model to a func_plat an it worked.
wedge2211 Posted April 25, 2003 Posted April 25, 2003 LJ is right, you can "attach" a model to another entity (I did it with func_trains, I know func_plats work, I *think* func_breakables work, and so func_rotatings probably also work). To do this, put the model in the correct position relative to the func, select the model, then select the fun, then hit Ctrl+K.
Fragmaster-B Posted April 26, 2003 Author Posted April 26, 2003 sorry i should have made myself clear ..silverhawk 2000 made a crane,, and where the hook is ,he has a func_pendelum there ..my question is ,is it possable to have a mic_model that will swing with the hook?? ty inadvance
Emon Posted April 26, 2003 Posted April 26, 2003 A lot of the func entities allow you do have an MD3 to also draw, using the model2 key. Linking them and compiling with Q3Map2 is better, though. I think using a model2 is going to draw it at the origin, and you don't want that for a pendulum. Q3Map2 comes with the newer releases of GtkRadiant.
