Hannibal

Thanks for bringing that over here, Hannibal. I wonder if all those characters are potential party members. Since we've seen Carth Onassi (sp?) on the Ebon Hawk in the screenshots, this would complete the group of nine. What an interesting mix. I certainly wasn't expecting there to be three Jedi in it! And two of them are impulsive to boot. Lots of potential there.

me a bit confused... do you mean there are supposed to be 9 PC's + your character and then a whole bunch of NPC's? coz u're able to control Bastila, etc, right?

You mean NPCs. There will be 9 NPCs to choose from. All don't have to join you. I'm sure Jolee Bindu and definitely Bastila are required though. Most likely Carth too.

Even though you control them in combat they are still NPCs.

We've only been referring to the character that you create as a PC.

Which, in the end, of course isn't the best terms to describe them, seeing as how NPC stands for NON-playable characters. Mayhaps team members or such would suffice better.

Either way, the term NPC has been used to describe them for too long, so I guess it doesn't matter how we call 'em anyway.

OK, i think i see what you mean... is this almost like how in FF VIII your main character was Squall but you'd control the others (Rinoa, Selphie, etc) in combat and very, very occasionally in real time running around too but normally they were just part of your party?

I suppose, ja... that's a very good analysis. Of course, you won't be able to simply swap characters by running near a save point or anything(you can only do that on the Ebon Hawk, I think), but that's as close as a comparison as you can get.

However, you can also take control of Bastilla Shan, for example, and let her lead the other characters(including your own)... or you can only pick Carth, and let him sneak solo into a compound to steal something.

Right, that's what I was thinking... so technically you *can* control the others in the party... although in FF VIII usually no matter how you saved the game Squall was still the leader of your party...

Juhani, Mission Vao, and Zaalbar......three new unrevealed characters in the SW universe. We're finally getting a Twi'elk and Zaalbar the wookiee I've heard of before, just never seen info about. I'm guessing that LEC will release their info soon......

I'm surprised with Juhani's outward appearance. I can remember that someone(Leemu) showed a sketch whom he believed to be the Cathar Jedi, to which I said that he was wrong because she didn't look like a Cathar at all. Seems I was wrong about that one...

Analysing the picture a bit, it seems that she is capable of being a Cathar after all, 'tho with all her hair shaven off... she resembles the Cathars from the "Redemption" comic more than their earlier appearances in the "Dark Lords of the Sith" and the "Sith War" series. (where they looked helluva a lot better in my opinion).

What planet are the Cathar from? I don't seem to recall this one...

also... the mini bio next to Bastila's picture calls her a Savant. Is this a race? Cause she looks pretty darn human to me...

EDIT: YEAAAAAAAAAA - 300 pts! GLOWY NAME HERE I COME!!!! :D:D

To quote dictionary.com...

Savant

\Sa`vant"\, n.; pl. Savants (F. ?; E. ?). [F., fr. savoir to know, L. sapere. See Sage, a.] A man of learning; one versed in literature or science; a person eminent for acquirements.

As for the Cathar, they are a race that were introduced in the Tales of the Jedi comic books. They're prolly my most favourite race whom were introduced in those books... they're fierce and honorable warriors, yadda yadda. For reference sake's, here are two pictures...

sylvaratulicstrial.jpg

Sylvar, one of the most well-known Cathar Jedi, from the "Sith War" comics.

Once again, Sylvar, but then seen in the "Redemption" series. As noted, if you shaved her hair, Juhani would kinda resemble her. I guess they based her appearance on the Cathar seen in Redemption.

Hey! That was me!

Leemu was going to sit back and take the credit too.

I saw you. ;):)

Och, kay then, it was you, Hannibal... here goes then : *takes a very, very, very deeeeep breath* You were right and I was wrong.

Eep, I noticed that I had never answered Kabutar's original question about the Cathar's home planet. Be prepared, because the name is very original : The Cathar originate from the planet Cathar!

BTW. Stormhammer, might I just say that I really like the sentence in your signature? Where's it from?

I was hoping more Jedi/sith could join your party...especially Darth Bandon...like if you went to the dark side...you could have him in your party later on in the game...extra characters that may or may not be able to join your party, depending on what side of the force you're on...3 jedi/sith just doesnt seem enough. Any thoughts on this?.......

If you have ever played the game "Summoner" for the Playstation 2 it would be easier to understand how Kotor works..im assuming it will be the same, if not close.. where you could switch the leader of the group with just a click of a button, and the rest of the characters would switch to AI...I dont think you'd have to go back to the Ebon Hawk just to switch the party leader...kotor will most likely play in that manner.

Hey Takennames..im in Tampa, FL....I have a question..now that we have seen all the playable characters that can join your party in Kotor....anyone have any idea who the most powerful jedi in the game that is supposed to be your sister/brother is..depending on the sex you make your main char...you would think it would be Bastilla..but the char is supposed to be the opposite sex of you..so..anyone have any ideas?..im guessing you wont be able to have that char join your party..

Well, I suppose that Bastilla Shan would be your sister for the male chars, whilst Bindo(as was suggested before by Kabutar, I think) would be the pick for the female chars.

However, didn't the developers recently state in the official forums that there would no such thing as a sibling? Can anyone back me up on this?
