Saga - status?

I've been dreaming about having UT Assault-style gameplay in JO, and it looks like the Saga gametype is the answer. Anyway, what is the status of programming work on it? I saw the SAGA sticky thread (closed for some reason?), but nothing was really decided there. Also, I haven't heard anything about any Saga mods or maps. So, what happened?

 

I'd be willing to help improve it, because I have a few years of C++ experience (I did Wulfram Poller, the SWCombine trivia applet, and am currently doing Freelancer Mod Manager, which is I'm proud to say the most popular mod installer for Freelancer :) ).

Hey Manquesa, you've been gone some time :)

 

I coulodn't work out why that thread was closed either. I think the AotC/Promod team are working on SAGA, but don't quote me on that. To some extend it is already possible to implement and use SAGA, as Monsoontide already has, though I don't know what the limitations inherant are.

From what I've seen of the code, it looks like any limitations that exist would be easy to fix. It does look like all the SAGA programmers have either disappeared or moved to the AoTC:TC project, so I'm inquiring in their forums.
