Exar_reborn
Like do we get xp just for that skill or is it all general and we can put it into anything we want?
Sunshine Badass
You practice with a certain skill, and PRESTO!!! You get "Experience" in that skill. After all, there is no way you are going to improve your cooking skill by shooting stormtroopers now, is there???
Exar_reborn
Eh I was just curious cause in AC we could go use our magics and get all that xp and then we could throw it into alchemy if we wanted. So its just with that skill ok, I think i catch ya.
c_afro919
Ya, like in the weaponsmith proffession, correct me if im wrong but I think you get XP for everytime someone uses your weapon.
Exar_reborn
I think that, that is really good cause we can sell weapons to the PA and then they could use them and just pass along the XP.
setsuko
Yes. To adress the issue that in most MMORPGs it's easier for combat characters to get xp, in SWG you'll get xp when items you have crafted are used. So you have both money, fame and xp to gain from crafting the best guns in town so that everyone uses them!
Exar_reborn
Now do we as in spies/ warriors obtain xp by the amount of time we hunt, the amount of missions we do, or however much xp the thing we kill gives us?
setsuko
Most likely a combination. Yes, more dangerous missions will give us more xp. Also, more dangerous creatures/NPCs will give us more xp. Though, I don't think the actual amount of being in the wilderness would count, unless perhaps for some scouting skills. Again, a lot of this hasn't been thoroughly covered in our reports from the devs, so it will be really interestin when that *beep* NDA is lifted! The Punisher
Hmmm, I think I see a problem in this. Maybe i am just dumb, but if you get xp if you weapon is simply used, would that encourage people giving their creations away so they can master a skill. This would put a heavy dampener on the arms economy.
swediot=)
they wouldnt do that seeing that they would loose money now would they
setsuko
And we don't know how much xp you'll get. Perhaps it's not enough to warrant you giving away your stuff for free? And after all, there is a lot more you can do with cash than with xp!
Exar_reborn
Punisher thats a really good point. hmm this opens up a whole new can o' worms.
The Punisher
Hmm, I don't know now, I think setsuko is right, we may only get a few xp for the use of our stuff. Considering all the possible people that could be using our creations, the xp turnover can't be that high. Plus, the dev team is really concerned with the economy... Exar_reborn
Economy is going to be a HUGE thing to deal with. Now is there a planet wide economy or since tattoine is on the outter rim will they have a different economy from corillea
MonsterBugg
if you feel like giving me a gun, feel free! If your weapon sucks, then there's a fat chance that you'll be getting any XP from me. . . However, if your crafted item is good enough to become my main squeeze (no pun intended), then chances are high that I would have paid you for the item anyways. too bad there isn't some sort of "borrow" command. How cool would it be to lend your gun to someone who's about to PvP??
