SSJ4Goku
Go with AMD and Radeon, dude. Later!
Sniper Wolf
AMD is definetly cheaper. Make sure you get a motherboard compatible with AMD processors. The GeForce Ti series is very powerful as well as the Radeon. The choice is yours. - Wolf
Taos
I'm in beta and I've got a redeon 9700 tx and it works great....so I suggest checking that out. This belong in the off-topic forum.
Deft Aklin
A radeon 9500 is half the price of a 9700 and if you're any good with a soldering iron, they're the same card. I prefer Intel, as AMD's are a little less stable.

I still need to buy a gforce 4, cause the vid card is generic, 64 meg, which is great, but morrowind, a rpg I have, is like...glitchy. And galaxies isnt gonna run its best unless you have a supercomputer:D about the amd prossessers, I had one and it was really bad, pentium is the way to go. But if you are like...a little short on money, try ebay. The the dell I have is a customized dimension 2350, and it is the best computer I have ever used. Memory Ram is 256 megs, intel pentium 4 prosseser: 1.80 ghz, 16x dvd player, cd burner, Awsome sound system, hookups for a cable modem, windows XP, and is just a great computer. I would highly recomend dell, or maybe..if your looking for cheaper, go for a e-machines, those are pretty good. Pricewatch is a great place to buy parts if you want to build. Also, http://www.computergeeks.com has some good prices, and ebay.
Wings_SWmud
Dimension 2350...those are the ones...without...AGP...ports, right? If so...well, PCI graphics cards aren't exactly great. You'll do ok as long as you get a Radeon 9100 PCI (Visiontek make them, iirc), but anything else...ugh. And AMD aren't bad. I should know...this thing I'm on spanks a P4. Kjølen
Get the new Apple G5 2.0 Ghz G5 Processor (Which outstrips the best Intel processor, even though the clock speed is slower, infact, it might even be dual processors) 8GB of DDR RAM (That's right, you heard me 8 Gigabytes) Supports up to two 180GB Hard drives (Maybe a bigger one I'm not sure) And so one with faster bestter insane stuff. But If you just want a non-Apple computer, get something with Randeon, and never anything with "PCI" or "MX" or "MMX" ok? Oh, and Athlon is nice and cheap and faster than an Intel chip with the same clock speed, but the fastest Intel Chip is better than the fastest Althon chip. Just waaaaay more expensive. Exar_reborn
Well 256mb is the best you can get now (BTW no current graphics card for the normal customer displays SWG at its full potential) Devs did this so it still keeps up with competition years from now.
