Joshi
Originally posted by Nitro Quite so... That said, if you ever need legal advice on forum matters, I'm your man! Thanks, but i'm covered, i represent myself, and you can't sue for virtual money.
Nitro
You're right, but I could press charges for theft, then sue you (for real money) for the emotional damage the incident caused... Then I'd offer to drop both if you gave the points back, and we'd all be back at square one. But since they're back, it's a moot point.
Joshi
exactly, you have no case, the credits were given back (all of them) and then a disclaimer was put clearly on the offending post afterward explaining the outcome to those who did donate, therefore with the money given back and no crime being committed at this time, you have no case, the system works! RicardoLuigi...
this is kind of sad, really. you're talking about suing for virtual money and emotional damage. sad sad sad. but then again, it's not as sad as the topic about the penis-shaped childrens' toy. Yufster
Actually, I think it might be fun if we made a Virtual Lawyer thing here and you could sue people for virtual money... like sometimes people could sue people like Mek for slander and crap like that. I think it'd be hella fun.
RicardoLuigi...
then go and make a topic for your virtual lawyer. although i wouldn't become to attached to the idea because i'm not sure how many people would use it... but, whatever milks your guernsey. Oh, I know they're all back, and I'm not trying to be an ass... I'm just trying to turn this into an intelligent discussion... And since people who found that site without seeing that post might still notice the "easter egg", unless they posted in this thread after your edit (thereby giving 'resonable doubt' to a claim they didn't see the disclaimer, and giving you a defence in the process), you could still, in theory, be guilty of theft. Now, here enters the best part of the law... In a courtroom, a case like this could go either way, depending on who's got the most persuasive legal representation. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. RicardoLuigi...
i'm attorney peter francis geraci. are you a juggler? is every month a juggling act to try and keep your credits with you even though they're not really yours and you cheated everybody out of them by making them find the 'easter egg' and you thusly ended up taking 100 credits each time they clicked the link, and then afterwards you posted a disclaimer proving that they were taking a risk when they clicked it, even though it is invalid to the people that had perviously clicked the link, and therefore you are very cheap and are a crook/thief, causing a fellow forumer to possibly sue you for virtual money, otherwise known as the credits that you had so vainly and arrogantly taken from everybody? then call me, and i will help you defend your case, even though i'm a shallow, drab phony that sells chapter 7 & 13 info tapes about bankruptcy, because i am now specializing in many more fields of robbery and people stealing credits from others without forewarning them. get real cheapness relief from the law firm you trust to stop you from being a criminal, even though you did post a disclaimer (even though it was too late) and gave back the credits you so callously cheated everybody out of. call my hotline number: 1-800-IMACHEAPBASTARDTHATSTOLEEVERYBODYSCREDITSANDTHENGAVETHEMBACKANDWANTHELPDEFENDINGMYSELFINAVIRTUALCOURTATLUCASFORUMS to help yourself in a court of law. just say that you would like my help and i will be with you as soon as i can. Joshi
Ignoring Moles post, Nitro, as long as the disclaimer's there, people now have no reason to be angry if they accidentally give me their money. The fact that they didn't read the disclaimer is of no consequence to me, it was there, in black and (brown). A freind of mine got ink on his fingers and used a type of bleach to get it off. It instead made it worse and went into his pores causing irritation. Can he sue the company who made the bleach? No, they had clearly put on the side of the bottle to not use it on skin, the fact that he didn't read it is what made him use it. If you don't read the disclaimer, I still cannot be held responisble for your actions, therefore, you'r basically giving the money to me, rather than having me steal it. All credits given to me before the disclaimer was put on the post (although there was one on the page if people looked hard enough) were given back fully and therefore i did not steal from anyone. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. Yeah, that's right, I said pipe!
RicardoLuigi...
i have a pipe! only, it's a bubble pipe. and i was just joking. you know that, right neil?
Zoom Rabbit
I think we should just say it was a prank that went wrong and leave it in the past. No harm done. After all, you didn't get any of my points! Kids, take note...never, ever click on a shielded link. Unless you read through the posts following it to see where it actually goes.

Zoom Rabbit
Absolutely! Points stand for pride, posts stand for personals ads, click means *click!* and a link is obviously a sheep. Nitro is demonstrating an alactrity for deobfuscation.

Zoom Rabbit
You do realize that every time our posts appear in sequence, the minds of complete strangers in odd little countries around the world are going to fold over on themselves... Sounds like a plan.
