Homoludens
For anyone interested: Got Game Entertainment, LLC today announced that RHEM, an intricate first person puzzle-based adventure game for the PC and Mac, has begun arriving in North American retailers. Developed by Knut Mueller, Rhem "thrusts the player into a strange land and on a challenging adventure to uncover the secrets of an enigmatic letter. Featuring mind-bending puzzles, non-linear gameplay, and a mysterious setting, RHEM is an exploration-type adventure game with a non-violent story that challenges the mind, not the trigger finger." Gamer's Hell I had played the demo and found it boring as hell, a poor man's Myst, and only a fraction of Myst's imaginativeness and quality. Give the demo a whirl if you're curious, but trust me, the graphics are bland and uninteresting, the puzzles lack creativity.
Skinny Minnie
Michelle Whicker really panned it at PC Gameworld, too. I haven't even looked at it since.
