I got the "Classic Adventures From Lucasarts" collection with Zack, Maniac Mansion, Monkey Island, Indiana I and Loom for 50$!!! And someone would pay THIS much just for Zack?? Is it signed or something?? I know sealed game are more valueble, but this is too much! I'm not saying its not worth it but... But if I payed so much for a game, I'd have a moral dilema: -Open and play it and reduce its value to near mothing? -Or keep to re-sell, or just put it on display and never play it? The max I have payed on the internet was for a "pack" I got Prince of Persia, Hithiker's guide to the galaxy, Carmen Sandiego, Spellcasting party Pak and the Forgotten for 100$... I can't remember if that included shipping or not... By the way the Ebay Seller says Zack McKraken is Lucasarts 1st game.... Its not... I think It was "Rescue on Fractalus!"... Or Ballblazer...
pleto4_ryan Posted August 20, 2003 Posted August 20, 2003 Makes you thank god you had bought it years before when it was still new and yes Zak wasn't Lucas first game, definitely...actually its first game wasn't even adventure the group's work resulted in the company's first two games, BallBlazer® and Rescue on Fractalus®, both of which would release in 1984.

It holds a very special place in my heart! The original game with the original LucasArts box is very very hard to find. It's very rare now!

That auction is pretty absurd. He also unloaded his copies of Monkey Island and Sam and Max for almost $70 each, which is a lot more reasonable. Still, he brought in close to $270 with those three games. I suppose it seems so crazy because games, still being a fairly new medium, haven't reached the level of general value achieved by rare first-edition book printings, various collectible sports cards, comic books, and more recently gaming cards. I'm sure auctions like this will continue to grow more and more lucrative.
