What video card are you using because that error code, as stated in the STUCK thread that covers this exact problem, is known to be cause by out-of-date drivers or drivers that are needing the instructions for loading the OpenGL 1.3 or higher subsystem.

If you own a GeForce card or Riva/TNT, go to nvidia's site http://www.nvidia.com and get the latest Detonator FX drivers. 45.23 I believe is the newest drivers available.

If you own an ATI card such as the Radeon family of video cards, go to http://www.ati.com and download their latest catalyst drivers.
