I finally found the time to change my computers resolution to a 4:3 setting. I'm currently exploring all the locations in Return again, it's so much better to play it this way, at least for me! The game is more relaxed and open-feeling in 4:3. The 16:9 ratio was always too narrow for me, but I couldn't put my finger on the problem. Thank you for making this post and explaining how simple it is to change the settings, even on a laptop! It feels like a classic game now!

I already liked this one on the TWP forum😅 I’ll have to replay the game before reading it in all its details though. After finishing it the first (and only) time, I was left with a feeling that Guybrush was a bit dim-witted and being taken care of by his wife(?) Elaine as something like a compassionate older sister or mother. That would indeed explain when Ron said Elaine loves Guybrush but would never marry him. Not sure how to retrofit the MI2 dialog between them in that case. (Unless it is largely in Guybrush’s play fantasy).
