  1. That's your choice. I'll just say that your world is part of a much larger one. Keep your mind on what you can influence, but keep in mind that your world is dependent on the much greater one. It's easier to adapt the younger we are... I only became concerned with the issue in the last two years and regret not knowing it sooner.

Some Americans never learn it... and look where it is leading them. lol

  2. Well, you'll be in for a surprise later... he'll take on the characteristics of the real Revan as the story goes on. For now, he's just working off that false life the Council gave him and doesn't have any of his prior memories unlocked. This will be very apparent later and when you may see a bad character development for Trevelyan, it will make sense later. I'll say no more unless you want to know now.

  3. Don't worry about offending me or America... we deserve all of it. I try to disassociate myself from the rest. Being a geography major, I know more about how we need to live to sustain ourselves for the distant future. Nuclear power is one thing we should not have abandoned because it would have helped us now. Instead, we focus more on the checkbook than the resources that we are buying. Money is NOT a resource, but we treat it as such. As the Exile said... "The US doesn't deserve to be stabilized. I want it to die." Well I'm not quite like that.

  4. Just letting you know I'm posting at the same time you are... this is an odd system of posting.

I don't want to spill the story or ruin what happens next, but my favorite part is just ahead. I think it's the first true step Yuthura takes to accepting her past. Up to this point, I tried to emphasize that she hated herself and tried to live to Trevelyan's expectations. After the next chapter...

  5. Well the US has been shining very bright since George W Bush. It wasn't him, alone, but he took a huge part in our decline over the last eight years. It's more basic than the leader, though. It's all the habits we've established over the last several decades. The solution to the problem is an overhaul or the American way... which I don't see ever happening without major conflicts of interest.

  6. Well, when you do want to get to sleep, just say so. Don't think you have to keep fighting sleep to keep posting. I rather like this, but I don't want you to fight fatigue if you don't want to... that shows up much in my fiction. lol

  7. I see the UK as a classic and long-lasting power. I respect countries in Europe much more than any other in the world. The EU is a remarkable unification and I support how you've formed great stability in the last decades.

The US is only about 250 years old, but it's going to burn out very soon. We may seem great to other people, but we're much like Rome... under the beautiful exterior is a foundation that detracts from the rest of the world. The average American is extremely limited and doesn't grasp globalization and the realization that most of our success is built from other people's efforts. As much as I hate the idea that the US is going to collapse in the near future... I take a view that we need to prepare ourselves for the worst. If the future is as expected... we're prepared for that. If not... than the future's that much sweeter.

  8. I just realized that it must be 4:32 in the morning where you are. It's still evening of the previous day where I am. Are you usually awake at that time of day?

  9. I like the potentium (gray jedi) belief. They take the stand that the force is not inherently good or bad... it's how it's used that makes the difference. My story is meant to stress this to not only the force, but to real life. Good/bad right/wrong fact/lie... all comes down to our individual perception of the truth and why we act.

In America, we have been under the impression that we were the greatest country in the world and we had the right to have all the luxuries that we deprive from other places.

How is the US seen in the UK... if I could ask?

  10. Years ago, maybe a decade, I loved Star Wars beyond an addiction. At some point, I freed myself of it. Then I went and got addicted to it again... only this time, I became more interested in the 'religious' aspect of it. The first time, I didn't care for the jedi in any regard. I liked the space battles most. This time, I was more interested in the characters and the jedi side of the universe. I found the Mandalorian to Sith wars issue much more interesting than the Palpatine to power storyline... it's happening right now in America!

  11. I think I will. Appreciate the recommendation. I have not participated in online social groups or fanfictions since I started on this one only six weeks ago. The last forum site was not exactly socialable. I only was exposed the KOTOR less than a year ago... haven't been waiting for as long as some for KOTOR III... if it ever comes out. The rest of the SW universe is not that interesting to me. What's your opinion on that?

  12. You have other fictions... outside of Lucasforums? If so, where would they be?

  13. Well if I could ask a serious question... do you still find writing fun when you're obligated to it? If you want to be a writer, you should be able to write under unfavorable conditions and know what to expect before committing to that path. If it's not as enjoyable then... I'm just asking because I had a relative that followed their talent, but ended up hating the profession.

  14. I suppose so. It's one thing to have a hobby, but it's another to have a profession. I think I can write Shrouded in Darkness well because I want to do it and can chose where I go with it and when. If I had restrictions on choice or time or methods... it extracted all the fun out of writing for me.

Do you have this problem as well... or is it just me?

  15. Well it's one thing to do art as a hobby, but as a profession... it's different. Sometimes you would have to create certain pieces or write certain stories that we don't choose. When I was obligated to write a few pages on stories I've read... let's just say I was miserable doing it.

  16. I've had interest in being an artist... probably explain the drawings. I just found that I wasn't willing to live taking one job after another. I had talents in sciences, so I chose a geo major. I can see you eventually becoming an author... hope you succeed in that.

  17. I'm 23 if you want to know. I'm also from America and live in a suburban area(Something that Americans seem to love, so that's not surprising). I'm surprised that you've been writing since 10.

  18. Shrouded in Darkness is my first story. It's also the first single writing that extended more than 20 pages. I started doing it for personal reasons, but when I got a few chapters in, I posted it on another forums site and got only three replies. When I found this sight, I guess it encouraged me to keep writing.

  19. Wow! This next comment is not to detract from the work, but to emphasize the emotional value... This will keep my spirit up for a long time. Thanks.

  20. One word... one simple little word that I hope has an impact... Wow!

That fan art had a lot of detail and I really liked it. Now I've got to do the same for you!

  21. The stories I like most involve character growth and development. I want to see why a character changes and for what reasons they do it. I chose Yuthura Ban because I think she was a better tragic character than Darth Vader. She did terrible acts because she had a higher cause in front of her. It was her hate for slavery that lead her to the sith and the same cause that drove her back to the jedi.

The other quality that I favor are controversial issues. I favor the second KOTOR game because it displayed the Jedi as being imperfect and as villains... not because they were evil, but because they were too arrogant to consider that they were wrong. I try to include little issues to try and display both sides of it and give a reason for the side I chose.

Thanks for your opinion. I will try to expand the number of in-depth characters in my story.

  22. Hello there. I'll skip the "what's up... how you doing" and other pointless questions. I was actually wondering what type of topics you favor most when reading. Do you like stories that emphasize character development, irony, familiar topics, alien subjects, ect.? Just curious.

  23. Still a bit new to forums... I didn't mean to leave you hanging, but I had to bail off the computer right after my reply. What do you want to talk about?

  24. Is there something you need, human? Make it good for I have little patience! -YB
