  4. Collection just turned up, simple DVD case and Manual isn't much to run home about, for some reason the manual covers not just the PC keyboard layout but the 360 controller layout, no mention of PS3 controller and its only 8 pages. Mixnmojos quote is on the back of the DVD case which is great news to see. Its one installer so both SE get installed onto your hard drive and a launcher which shows you the features. Trying to get some screenshots if I can.
  5. Well the collection is out in Europe this Friday, who will be buying on first day release? I assume most will be buying the PC version which on all sites are selling for £7.99.
  6. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-08-05-retrospective-escape-from-monkey-island-article Just look at the amount of "love" for Monkey Kombat in the comments
  7. Yes, all features will be in all versions, including 360 & PS3. Just wondered, will mixnmojo be doing a review of this collection once its released?

  9. Ask and you shall recieve, heres another one; (This BBCode requires its accompanying plugin to work properly.) and another; (This BBCode requires its accompanying plugin to work properly.) These vids should get posted on the front page of the site so more people can see them
  10. Found these German trailers for the Collection mainly showing behind the scenes of the commentary done by Ron Gilbert, Dave Grossman and Tim Schafer. Maybe these clips may feature as bonus content perhaps??? (This BBCode requires its accompanying plugin to work properly.) (This BBCode requires its accompanying plugin to work properly.)
  11. Box art unveiled, its not bad, they seem to have mixed both games box arts together and that Guybrush looks better than the 1st SE cover version. http://www.jvn.com/jeux/articles/une-compilation-monkey-island-en-magasin.html#images
  12. from xbox360achievements.org Activision has announced that it's set to publish the Monkey Island Special Edition Collection for release later this year, bundling The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition and Monkey Island 2 Special Edition: LeChuck's Revenge into one neat package with additional bonus content from the Lucasarts vault. Both games will be available in their entirety on the retail disc, with remastered HD graphics, the remastered score, full voiceover and a hints system to help you out should you get stuck. And yes, you'll still be able to seamlessly switch between the classic and HD versions of the game at the touch of a button, and you'll still get the commentary from creators Tim Schafer, Ron Gilbert and Dave Grossman on Monkey Island 2. Both full games will come with new, newver-before-seen bonus content on the disc too, including environment and character concept art from the Special Editions and the original and re-recorded soundtracks. There'll also be storyboards and concept art from an Industrial Light & Magic animated Monkey Island movie that never saw the light of day. Monkey Island Special Edition Collection will be flying the Jolly Roger and setting sail to retail stores on September 9th, 2011. If you can't wait that long though, you could always download the games from the Xbox Live Arcade for 800 Microsoft Points each. Best news ever and good to see LucasArts MI back in stores.
  13. http://artifactdig.bigcartel.com/product/atlantean-horned-idol Wonder if it has small round beads inside. I still say its a fake
  14. http://www.facebook.com/NeverhoodMobile http://twitter.com/#!/NeverhoodMobile Only found this out, it looks like the original developers are negotiating the rights to get The Neverhood re-released on iPhone, Android etc... First Toonstruck, now this awesome news!!!
  15. Trevor has just answered some fan questions one in particular telling which platform its coming out on first; 1. I believe our current goal lies with a handheld version of the game. But, depending on its success, repackaging it back for PC and Mac isn't too far off. 2. What I mean by "Re-enhanced" is that we are taking all the old backgrounds and sound files and upping their resolution to match the ratio of iPad, iPhone etc. 3. We don't have any current plans to send it off for a windows platform at the moment. 4. While it may be going for Apple products, im not sure if we will have it for Android. Time will tell. 5. Once I find out our booth number for Comicon, I will be sure to let you guys know so you can come on by! I will probably be there helping out all (5?) days of the Convention at the booth. So it looks like a iOS/handheld release first then on PC and MAC, this has happened before especially with the remastered Broken Swords.
  16. Well maybe they are still the other 2 publishers GOG are speaking with will probably hear more about it early September or so.
  17. Just read this on the Facebook page from a Trevor Greer who is involved the enhanced edition Well Ladies and Gentlemen, I have good news for those of you who are looking forward to the re-enhanced version of Toonstruck. My father and Keith both worked at Virgin (Interactive?) and they are overseeing the project. As well as this, I play a part of this project. The re-enhanced version is beginning to gain momentum and we are in the process of gathering all the old data from the original source code. We hope to have stuff for Comicon this July, so check out the PCB Productions booth at the convention! Anyone here going to Comic Con???
  18. For today only, the entire season of Tales of Monkey Island is on sale on Steam 66% off
  19. Just seen this on GOGs twitter We've narrowed it down to California, it's either EA or LA! Find out at CDP Summer Conference. Clash of the Titans, although its obvious it'll be EA but I could be wrong.
  20. Did anyone notice this phrase as well on one of the earlier pages; "Viva la Revolución" Where have we heard that before
  21. If you look on this page; http://www.gog.com/en/news/dr_m_and_the_dastardly_doom You can clearly see which publishers could be the one to be announced, it looks like Square Enix is out of the picture as the logo is greyed out. LucasArts is still there but it does change everyday leading up to this Thursday so this would give us a clear idea on who it might be. Plus theres a few clues in the Dr M web comic.
  22. Looks like we may find out who they've spoken with as GOG and CDPRED's will be making next big announcements at the CDP Summer Conference at 7pm GMT on Thursday 2nd June. EDIT: Spoke with GOG on Twitter and they can confirm only one of those 3 publishers will be unveiled this Thursday. Probably more likely EA but if it is LucasArts, this forum is going to explode!!!
  23. from Kotaku There will be a new DeathSpank game this summer and it will involve a quest for the Fires of Bacon. It will also be a greatly improved follow-up to last year's downloadable DeathSpank adventures, two comedic riffs on Diablo. Like Hothead Games' previous DeathSpank third-person action games, the new one will put players in charge of a silly self-important dope of a hero, the titular DeathSpank. Our hero spends his games beating up packs of bad guys who are mostly walking fantasy-genre jokes. He will gather loot, collect weapons and take many more odd jobs from odd characters. The folks at Hothead gave us news of The Baconing early, and the normal course of action would be for us to take their info, cut out the boring parts and get to the meat of things. But at the risk of stretching a pun badly, we need to quote their press release extensively, to retain the flavor of this summer-scheduled Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and PC downloadable game: DeathSpank returns for an all new adventure in The Baconing as he faces his most dangerous foe yet in the Anti-Spank as he tries to locate the Fires of Bacon. Players will settle in for the fun and familiar Monkey Island meets Diablo experience as the Vanquisher of Evil sets out to meet new acquaintances and some old friends in an all new science fiction post apocalyptic world with lots of exciting surprises, quests, puzzles and enemies. DeathSpank Returns in The Baconing, an Apparently Improved and Ridiculous SequelDon't be deceived! This is a screenshot of the first DeathSpank, not this still-unseen third one. Battle four all new bosses like the Minorque, fight alongside a new sidekick named Bob from Marketing, tame an all new insane level of difficulty and visit all new locations such as The Forbidden Zone, The Forest of Tomorrow, Barnacle Lake and others as you seek out to find the locations of the infamous Fires of Bacon to once and for all destroy the evil power of the thongs. Enjoy the feel of countless gameplay improvements to the combat system. Dizzy enemies with the shield bash, deflect ranged weapons back at enemies and use devastating charged attacks to send a message to foes. Players will feel more in control of the battle situations than in previous DeathSpank games, providing gamers with opportunity and choice when engaging the enemies which stand in DeathSpank's way. DeathSpank begins the game within the confines of the city of Spanktopia which will eventually lead him to the first opening boss fight with the Minorque…let the quests of Justice begin. Get ready for an all new and improved adventure with everyone's favourite Vanquisher of Evil in "The Baconing!" New levels, new moves.... and Bob from Marketing. The developers at Hothead tell Kotaku that this new game, which was made without the involvement of the lead character's creator, Ron Gilbert, should be more satisfying to play than last year's games. While the earlier DeathSpank adventures were funny, their enemy-bashing, loot-collecting gameplay got dull quickly. (It was their script and attractive cartoon graphics made them worth playing.) For this new game, Hothead says players can expect smarter enemies who flank our hero and smarter enemy healers, who will strive to keep their hordes alive against the game's ridiculous hero. Combat areas will now include cover points for DeathSpank to hide behind. An internal document about the game states that "player's will now feel compelled to use tactics and strategy to defeat their opponent." Hothead is promising more than 100 new quests, a new story, more than 70 characters (mostly new), more than 80 new weapons, new areas and a new, tougher difficulty level. They also, disturbingly, list the following special moves for the new sidekick, Bob From Marketing: "Laser eye beams; Eat dead bodies to restore health; Eat live bodies as an additional attack option." The main missing detail was co-op... it seems like it should be back, but Hothead hasn't said. We're checking with them and will update this story when we find out. Full size We wish we could show you how the new game looks, but Hothead hasn't coughed up any screenshots yet. You can expect to see more as the game's summer release approaches. For now, admire this photo of bacon. (Looks like today is the day for new Hothead game news... they've also announced a new Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy game.)
