leXX
I'm on the level where you are trying to get into Vader's castle. I've just re-aligned the mirrors to make the reactor blow up and Kyle has fallen down and says you'll have to go on without me. Now the problem is that the next section will not load. The loading bar starts across and freezes at the exact same spot every time, and I have to ctrl-alt-del. The only thing I have done different in that level is put 'thereisnospoon' in the console, because I wanted to take a good screenshoot of where I was. I can't see how that would affect the next level not loading, but you never know. Is there a way to undo that command? I phoned technical help and they said update the vid card drivers, which I already did a couple of days ago, and it might be a problem with directx 9.0b as it hasn't been tested yet. Failing that, replay the whole level. Now this is a long level and I don't particularly want to replay the whole thing. I've also been suffering with the same crashing problem as described in the thread below. This problem is really annoying me now as I can't continue on with the game. Any ideas? |GG|Carl
Try to turn down the graphics a little... I have to do that on some maps, to avoid lag and crashes. I think it might be worth a try.
leXX
Problem resolved, for now at least. I had to disable my sound card and play through the level without sound. This means I missed out on all the cutscene dialogue, so if anyone has a script, I'd appreciate it, because I'd love to know what was said. I have enabled my sound card again now and the next level seems to be loading ok. It just remains to be seen whether or not this problem crops up again. Andy867
Hey leXX, have you tried running the basic workarounds, like disabling Force Feedback and Dynamic Glow, and disable EAX? Those have started to spring up as gameplay issues one way or another.
leXX
I did turn off Dynamic Glow which didn't solve the problem, but I'll try disabling Force Feedback and EAX and see if that works for the problems I'm having with MP, as I completed SP a few days ago, thanks. I've actually re-installed it now and so far so good. Fingers crossed.
