t0pher
I would like to start a thread that collects descriptions of all the moves and additions of new moves for each style and saber type. This information is all over the place and think it's a good thing to have - instead of all the whining about how different everything is let's focus on how to play the new game (since we're all addicts and will play it anyway...) Note: We can use JKII moves as a basline (how do I do the red DFA in JKA?) but should avoid the overwhelming urge to sat that the new one sucks, the old one was better, etc. So... Here is a great article over at IGN that summarizes a number of basic moves. Below is a list of what I have compiled. Please add to this thread your thoughts on the strategy/usefullness of these moves, drawbacks (too much force depletion for medium finisher?), Katas, combos, etc. (*requirements in parenthesis) ========== ACROBATICS ========== FORCE JUMP (Force Jump 1) - HIT JUMP and HOLD direction FORCE FLIP (Force Jump 1) - HIT JUMP and TAP direction ROLL - while moving in a direction, HOLD CROUCH BACKFLIP OFF WALL (*Force Jump 1) - run towards a wall, then TAP JUMP when your about to hit it SIDEFLIP OFF WALL (*Force Jump 1) - standing next to a wall, TAP JUMP then LEFT or RIGHT WALL RUN (Force Jump 2) - while running next to a wall, HOLD JUMP & FORWARD LONG JUMP (*Force Jump 3, *Force Speed 1) - USE FORCE SPEED, HOLD JUMP & FORWARD WALL GRAB JUMP (*Force Jump 3) - while JUMPing into a wall, TAP JUMP and the direction AWAY from the wall RUN UP WALL + BACKFLIP (*Force Jump 3) - while running at a wall, TAP JUMP and HOLD FORWARD, Release the FORWARD key to backflip, or HIT JUMP JUMP UP FROM KNOCKDOWN (*Force Jump 1) - HOLD JUMP when knocked down JUMP KICK FROM KNOCKDOWN (*Force Jump 1) - HOLD FORWARD or BACKWARD, when knocked down ROLL FROM KNOCKDOWN - HOLD RIGHT or LEFT, when knocked down =============== All Saber Moves =============== BACKSTAB - BACKWARD & ATTACK when enemy is behind you KATA ATTACK - HIT ATTACK, then immediatly HIT ALT-ATTACK DOWNSTAB - JUMP & FORWARD and HIT ATTACK, when an enemy is lying on the ground in front of you CARTWHEEL (Force Jump 1) - At the beginning of an attack, HOLD JUMP & LEFT or RIGHT ROLLING STAB - ROLL towards an enemy, and HOLD ATTACK ============================ Single Saber Special Attacks ============================ BLUE LUNGE - CROUCH, then HIT FORWARD & ATTACK when an enemy is in front of you YELLOW DFA/MEDIUM FINISHER - TAP JUMP, then HIT FORWARD & ATTACK RED DFA - JUMP, then immediatly press FORWARD & ATTACK when an enemy is in front of you FLIP ATTACK - JUMP and immediatly press FORWARD & ATTACK when an enemy is in front of you ========================== Dual Saber Special Attacks ========================== FLIP ATTACK - JUMP and immediatly press FORWARD & ATTACK when an enemy is in front of you DUAL STAB LEFT/RIGHT - ATTACK, then HIT RIGHT or LEFT when enemies are on the side DUAL STAB FRONT/BACK - ATTACK, then HIT FORWARD or BACKWARD when enemies are near DUAL SABER BARRIER - ATTACK, then immediatly HIT ALT-ATTACK DUAL SABER TWIRL - CROUCH, then HIT FORWARD & ATTACK ========================== Staff Saber Special Attacks ========================== STAFF TWIRL - CROUCH, then HIT FORWARD & ATTACK BACK FLIP ATTACK - JUMP, then BACKWARD and ATTACK SPINNING KATA - ATTACK, then ALT-ATTACK, then HIT any key to roll, when it is finished KICK - HIT ALT-ATTACK, and the diretion of your enemy (SPLIT=LEFT/RIGHT, FLIP=FRONT/BACK, SPIN=all around) JUMP KICK - JUMP, then HIT ALT-ATTACK while HOLDING a direction BUTTERFLY ATTACK - JUMP, and immediatly press FORWARD, LEFT or RIGHT, plus ATTACK //t0pher
Jah Warrior
good idea, but its all in the manual and in the in-game help.
Kurgan
True. My strategy page will have some background info, but I'm assuming people have already read the in-game help and manual already. Most of the MP stuff is actually in game, since the manual is 95% SP.
t0pher
I was going for more of a decent place to collect moves that are in the book but poorly described, provide help with them, describe combos, tactics, etc. But yeah - it's all in the book. Crow_Nest
Does anyone knows how to kick enemies? (The one like in Jk2) I did it a few times by accident.
Sam Fisher
I think you go up to them like you would when you do a wall jump, double tap jump.
|GG|Carl
Or do like this: jump on an enemy(like super mario does), then you'll bounce, try to land on the same enemy again, if you do that, you'll make a classic JO kick!
Crow_Nest
Originally posted by SamFisher I think you go up to them like you would when you do a wall jump, double tap jump. When i do that, i will do the "wall-grab" thing.
Kurgan
To do JK2 style "flip kicks" (as I call them, to distinguish from the new "kicks" used by the staff) you have to enter the following console command: g_debugmelee 1 Then you have to have at least Level 2 Force Jump and either a saber or melee (fists) selected. Then run up to the enemy and when close press attack+jump (for forward you may need to do a quick double tap of jump without pressing attack). You can also "strafe" into the enemy while pressing jump. If done successfully (takes a bit of practice to get the timing down) you'll "flip kick" the enemy and they'll be thrown back or down onto the ground and you'll hear a hitting sound as you smack them. And yes, it does do damage... not a lot, but it's meant to be a setup for another attack (like the ground stab). Let it be known of course that JK2 style "flip kicks" only seem to work in JA SP, but not MP. Incidentally with fists, you can punch the enemy's fallen body repeatedly as well.
