Bunta
I was thinking about buying Curse of monkey island for my bro. He's got windows xp, he downloaded the demo for his comp and it didn't work. So i don't wanna buy it for him if its not going to work on xp.

sir monkey
Monkey Island 1 and 2 may not work on Windows XP, if not, don't panic just hop along here: http://www.quandaryland.com/Help/LucasArts_ScummVM_and_XP.htm But they should work as they work on mine. And CIM will definitly work.
Joshi
or you could just go to http://www.scummvm.org, or even http://quick.mixnmojo.com, either utility will do and both work with each other. of course this is all mentioned in the sticky at the top of this forum. I just said that. And the link i gave gives instructions, I think the SCUMMVM site doesn't.
Joshi
You did say that, but I just gave a direct link to the site that hosts the program where as you gave a link to a site that has the link to the site that hosts the program. also, the official scummvm site gives FAQ's compatability info and Documentation. Any ways i have monkey 1 & 2 from years ago and now i have win XP and they run but i have no sound or music will http://www.scummvm.org allow me to have sound and music ? Also are there any other ways to get my music and sound i have a creative SB Live! value sound card So please help as i long to re-play monkey 1and 2 with sound
Joshi
I personally prefer lec Q&E whichc is found at http://quick.mixnmojo.com but that requires VDM sound, which can be found from the same site. It works alongside scummvm but scummvm is not needed for it to work, but remember, all of this is free so you might as well get it all. both their primary functions are to make the game work and have the game work with sound so you shouldn't really have any problem there.
