SunBurN Posted October 17, 2003 Posted October 17, 2003 Ford Dye has a new web site complete with a forum of which he monitors and welcomes your visits and questions. For those of you who don't know who Ford Dye is, he's a Map/Level designer for Raven software, and designed some of the maps for Jedi Academy. Here's the links: Home page: (still under construction) but you'll noticed he posted the interview we did with him for http://www.map-review.ravencommunity.net http://levelforge.teamhuh.com/ Forum: http://levelforge.teamhuh.com/forgeLink/index.php
SunBurN Posted October 17, 2003 Author Posted October 17, 2003 He's just posted some major documentation for JA in his forum. Among them Siege and Bot Route documentation which wasn't included in the new tool set.
Tesla Posted October 17, 2003 Posted October 17, 2003 Cool, Siege stuff is what i've been looking for Im going to visit regualry
wedge2211 Posted October 17, 2003 Posted October 17, 2003 The bot routing information is the same as the JO bot routing tutorial that was included with the JO editing tools...so, my bot routing tutorial shoudl therefore be applicable to JA as well.
Kengo Posted October 17, 2003 Posted October 17, 2003 JA was Ford's first project with Raven and before that he was an amateur level designer, is that right? Anyway, nice site from a man who knows his stuff
SunBurN Posted October 18, 2003 Author Posted October 18, 2003 Yes, before he went to Ravensoft, he made mainly Quake3 maps...but you can see why he was hired if you look at some of them because they are amazing! I've been asking him to convert some of them to JA of which he said hes already in the process of doing that as well as getting ready to release a few that he made specifcally for JA!
recon Posted October 18, 2003 Posted October 18, 2003 Cool, this looks like a promising map reviewing website Cant wait for some SP maps to get made... then reviewed
SunBurN Posted October 22, 2003 Author Posted October 22, 2003 Just to reiterate, if you're having problems with the new GTK or just want to know how to do some thing, go here: http://levelforge.teamhuh.com/forgeLink/index.php and get the answer "straight from the horses mouth" so to speak as the forum admins are Ravensoft designers and can answer your questions.
