Starfire13
I installed the Starstorm 52.13 beta drivers from Guru3D, and my framerate in Jedi Academy has doubled! Yes, doubled! Instead of the 30-40fps I used to get, I'm now getting 70-80fps! JA feels much much smoother! It almost feels like I'm using a new videocard. It's not just JA either. I got a 5000 point increase in my Aquamark score, and the Halo demo is running with all eyecandy on maximum with a framerate of about 40+fps. This is the most amazing increase in speed I've ever seen, and I've been using beta drivers for ages. I have never seen a driver update give this kinda increase in performance. To add icing to the cake, the Starstorm drivers not only increase speed, but image quality as well. So, those of you with Nvidia cards may want to give it a try. Oh, by the way, my video card is a GF4Ti4200 128Mb. Chewy289
Halo was capped at 30fps for animation reasons, I doubt you're getting 40+fps, unless you uncapped it somehow.
Starfire13
There is an setting under options to turn off the 30fps cap. Can't think of a reason why anyone would want the 30fps cap, frankly. I don't see any problems with the animation with it turned off.
young Obi-Wan
are they really that good? I got a G4TI4200 too.
Starfire13
You'll have to try it out for yourself. We may have the same video card, but there are so many other factors. CPU, RAM, OS, etc. It's done wonders for my framerate, at least. So, if you're not afraid to use beta drivers, give it a go.
