Oh sure, great speller. (Hah! and now you can't even edit your message to make it right!) And I'm flattered that you remember me and scared at the same time because I'm afraid of donkeys, had a bad experiance as a child involing donkeys and...ginger... it's pretty self explanatory. Alia
But nothing happened. It just had this screen come up that said "Game Over" and that was it.
Joshi
Actually, if you were to do that in real life, the sdonkey would either get very very angry or very very... um... frisky.
roytordes'babe
The poor donkey, so you put ginger up the donkey's backside then. You bad bad man. :D
Shivermetimbers
Actually, they do that on certain types of horses for shows. It makes them keep their tails in the air (they also cut the muscle that holds the tail down, horrible stuff)
roytordes'babe
Why do they do that, is that so they don't get messed up.
Shivermetimbers
No, it's fashion. They do it in what is called saddle seat style riding, mostly with American Saddlebreds, but they do it with other breeds as well. It is considered normal, they want saddlebreds to have the highest set tail possible, and to have it be permanantly set up in the show ring, so they do these things to win, basically. It is a horrible practice.
Ernil
Promise me you've never shoved anything in a horse's arse.
Shivermetimbers
With the exception of a thermometer (which you HAVE to do if your horse is sick) don't worry... I never have, and I never will. What Ernil, the thought isn't appealing to you?
Ernil
It has haunted my dreams for ages.
Joshi
don't worry, it never actually happened, it was just a joke, but that kind of thing did used to happen in the olden time wars when barricades were pulled down by oxen. Basically a huge metal plated wooden wall was attatched to a baricade, and then the bulls would pull the wall to pull the barricade down so the enemy could get through. the people on the barricade would then just go down to the wall which was mounted on carts, stop the carts with a few wedges and then shove ginger up the oxens backside. after a few minutes, the oxen would basically rip the wall apart. Shivermetimbers
That part isn't true. But what I said about some show horses is.
roytordes'babe
Some people can be so cruel to horses or any other animal for that matter. Does anyone know if horses actually like having someone on their back, I know I wouldn't be happy with someone on my back. Does anyone share my views. Being loved and taken care of by a sensible, knowledgeable horseowner is probably preferable to to being killed. And many horses do appear to like what they do, but who can say for sure? I used to have a bitchy little mare who I loved almost to death. Man, what a character she had. She always bucked at shows, seldom behaved the same way twice, unseated beginner riders, was almost the size of a pony with a weird blaze on her nose, loved jumping sometimes and sometimes not, went crazy with excitement on trails,(sometimes not,) worked too hard, didn't work hard enough, liked mud and hated it, and was the best horse that ever breathed. I could go on for pages in the same vein, but let it suffice to say that even after riding her almost as long as I'd been riding period, (5-6 years) she still had new tricks as well as the old ones. I guess I had outgrown her by the fourth year, but as we seemed made for each other, I still rode her. She was eighteen when I finally moved on. I miss her so much. I wonder how she's doing. .... Sorry for that. Carry on.
