woodenstool Posted November 9, 2003 Posted November 9, 2003 Can Grim Fandango be played on the PC parts of the twenty-first century with no complications? Examples of PC parts of the twenty-first century: Intel Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz w/ 800Mhz Front Side Bus and HT Technology 128MB ATI Radeon 9800 Pro/XT Athlon 64 FX processor 4x CD/DVD Burner (DVD+RW/+R Drive) or 48x CD Burner/DVD Combo Drive ?
MeddlingMonk Posted November 9, 2003 Posted November 9, 2003 Try it and see. At the very least, the processor speed could cause problems in year three; specifically, with the conveyor belt. Another potential difficulty is the operating system, which you didn't mention. Older games can sometimes be cranky with Win2k and WinXP.
ZaXeriaw Posted November 9, 2003 Posted November 9, 2003 I have no problem on my 1,7GHZ and WinXP. Just install the patch, and I don't think you'll get problems.
woodenstool Posted November 9, 2003 Author Posted November 9, 2003 well, i'm thinking of getting a new computer and i just wanted to see if i would be able to play my old favorites on it.
Sally Limones Posted November 10, 2003 Posted November 10, 2003 You'll have trouble before year three. Year 2. The forklift. Just install the patch. ~Sal
MeddlingMonk Posted November 10, 2003 Posted November 10, 2003 And in year three, when you get to the factory island, flip the switch next to the conveyor belt first thing and then stay away from it until the plot itself brings you back.
