By the way guys, let's see how well you speak a 3rd language. :o

*sigh*

seriously, I said that it was okay if he wasn't very good at english if english wasn't his first language. He said it wasn't his first language, so I have no problems with his poor grammar. It's the people who've been speaking english their whole lives and spell wurds lyke thiss who i hate.

But anyways, I wish you guys good luck with your mod-ness.

Seems like most Americans only know one language. I feel so lonely.

Aw, don't feel lonely. I'm American, and I'm bilingual. ;) Of course, I've met Europeans who knew like four or five languages...

I blame the American school systyem. When I went to highschool in Englewood, Colorado (a good school disctrict) the only classes they had in foreign languages were French and Spanish. :dozey: Well, gee, thanks guys! Either of those languages would be extremely helpful if I were lost in a Japanese airport, or trying to score hash in India!

English is my first language but i can also speak both Polish and Ukrainian as my second and third languages (because i am of polish and ukrainian background). I am not too crash hot at the languages :p but its enough to get me through a conversation. I can understand the other person. Its replying to them that i have to think a bit.

\/ look below

I thought the subject had become second and third languages...I'm sorry.

;)

Seriously, though. I worked with a Punjabi cook from India once, and his tally of languages was astounding. He'd learned three in school--Punjabi, Hindi and English (although his English was lousy when I first met him,) then later picked up German, French and Spanish when he lived in Europe. That's six languages. :dozey: My buddy can literally go anywhere in the world and ask for tea.

So, here is my rant for all the American kids here now: when you get the chance, take a foreign language. I know back in my day they weren't required, but by golly heck they should be. :D At least one--I insist.
