I don't know if i like this yet so please post positives and negatives. Here it goes. Would it be interesting if you could fight against any team not just the opposing time of that era like imp vs. seperatist or rebels versus clones.

Just an idea.

It would make it very difficult to balance teams. Probably such a functiion will go at cost of the rebels being completely balanced to the imperials.

 

I think it wouldn't be that nice: Rebels should be to fight Imps, Clones to fight Droids. The rebel snowspeeder has a cable to tackle AT-AT's, not AT-TE's.

I expect hacks will be developed to get around this problem anyway.

There would obviously be balancing issues involved, but personally I'd welcome anything that adds greater variety. Although you could argue that certain sides were not around at the same times, I'd argue that it doesn't really matter, because it's just a game. In Galactic Battlegrounds you're free to set up a skirmish between any sides you like, and it works well. I see no reason why that can't work in this kind of context.

 

As others said, there will probably be cheats to try and work around the issue...
