Changing camera position?

Prime

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if there was a way to change the camera angle and position. I know you can swing the camera around with the mouse or arrow keys, but can you zoom in or zoom out and/or move the camera up and down? Just curious how I might create a view like this.

Thanks for any help :)

using KOTOR_tool i looked int he 2da's and found one called

camerastyle.2da

has different "styles" with things like distance , pitch , height , view angle etc

has several different lines aswell DEFAULT , ebonhawk , highview , e3test etc

this is proberly what you need to play with , but i then think these camera style lines are called from say the rim files . not sure though

There is also a field in dialog files under the Entry and Reply lists called CameraAngle which accepts a DWORD value. Changing this value will affect the viewpoint during the dialog. That doesn't explain T7's combat shot though...

One of the patches released by Lucas/Bioware contains an update that puts "GUIsInScreenShot=1" in the swkotor.ini. All you need to do is update the game and switch that value to 0.

Jackel is right about camerastyle.2da. This is one of the first things I was playing around with. I have also used it to get some good close up head shots. If you want to change anything about the camera then camerastyle.2da is the file you want.

I haven't tried to add any new camera styles just altered the ones that were there to get what I wanted. I have been able to make so I can move the camera almost completely vertical. Though it is achward to do in game. The camera sytem seems very ridged.

I was wondering when someone would mention that Shot :)

Then I am your man :D

All I really want to do is zoom the camera out a bit. I just find that it is too close during combat. I haven't looked myself yet, but would this be feasible?

EDIT: never mind. I figured some things out :)
