hooded jedi robe request

Recommended Posts

hi, i'm a newcomer to this forum and a complete newb to the world of modding.

i was wondering if it would be at all possible to modify the star forge robes so that the character is wearing the hood, as it is the case on the Darth Rewan model?

any info or help would be hot, i've been browsing through the forum and various mod pages, but havent found anything - except for the darth rewan mod with uthar's head in it which came pretty close - but i'm looking for the light side version if you will.

anyways, thanks in advance for any info or help.

Well, the only way I see it is to retexture Darth Revan, but then your face looks like s***t because his face is plain becasue he has a mask, etc. Not possible unless you can live with a jedi with a mask or a s***t looking face, because we CAN NOT make models

This is true...

However, I have done a little playing with the idea of having most of the face in shadow. While it doesn't completely remove the problem of the poor face, it does help to hide it somewhat. I'll play a bit further and see if I can get something at least decent...

Actually, this would be possible through the magic of 2da edits, methinks. If you edit the star forge-revns robe armour class, with N_DarthRevan, it could make it look JUST LIKE Revan. The only thing about this would be:

1) You would have a mask on.

2) Revan's robes would replace the goody-goody Star Forge Robes.

Yeah, that would be ideal.

On the bright side, from the few pics I've seen KOTOR 2 has just what we are looking for... :)

Hey guys this IS possible. I've got the model right, just gotta get the textures and it will be perfect. It works just a few minutes.

I found the model, but for some reason the corresponding texture showed up as all metal, but I'm gonna substitute the normal Rvena texture for it. That should work.

Hehe, this what you were looking for?

Credits go to I like commas; I used his idea.

Okay, now the bugs: The animationless cape, of course, and there's the fact that this will also replace the Star Forge Robes, cause there was no way around that.

but i'm looking for the light side version if you will.

But you at least shouldn't have a problem with that. :)

it is close to what i wanted at least - i managed through some fiddling around and get to the point as well, where the character would wear the darth revan robe, but not the mask, but it seems to me that the revan model was clearly created for cutscenes only, based on those very stiff pieces of cloth that make up his robe - the cloak for instance.

however what i was looking for was the original 'goody-goody' star forge robe, but with the hood up instead - but i guess that would require that it was possible to change the models, or you'd have to live with the dark jedi head or something like that.

thanks alot for all the help and the replies here, they are much appreciated.

T7: Ya I was thinking that too about 10 min after my post. But the fact that I suck at texturing still remains. But as I said, I'll see what I can do.

Prime/wingzro: It was actually pretty simple. If you think about it, every model that shows up ingame, even just for a cutscene, has to have a row in the appearance.2da file. I just looked through, found N_DarthRevan_CutsceneM and N_DarthRevan_CutsceneF (Or whatever it was) And C+Ped that into the modelj space. (modelj includes those two sets of robes)

The I stuck in the texture of the normal masked Revan, and it worked perfectly. And I've sent it to uru, so once it's up, download away!

Another funny thing that happened, was when I was putting in the texture, I accidentally put the Ms and Fs when it was only supposed to be N_DarthRevan, and it gave me a set of ubermetal robes. Pretty funny looking.

OKay, as I've said, I'm not really that great at retexturing; What I do is more like semiextreme recoloring. So if noone likes this, I won't be surprised. Fearless_Jedi asked about a set of brown robes, and here's my attempt. There's also a picture of Maskless Revan as a female, cause I forgot to put one.

Makes sense to me :) I figured it would be something along those lines, but I thought it would be worth getting you to post it as otherwise you'd probably be getting lots of questions about it.

As fir the retextures, they look pretty good. I might take a stab at skinning some when they get posted...
