Ewok Homie
Alright we all know there are gonna be snow speeders on hoth. And that two people can be in one at a time(One flying and one aiming toe cable). Im wondering who is already thinking about how many snowspeeders there will be. I hope there are at least 4 that way you can do a formation and have fun with another snowspeeder flying at one of them huge at-ats. Also who is gonna wanna fly and who is going to want to be the toe cable gunner. I personaly would like to be the toe cable gunner seeing so that i can see another snowspeeder behind us in flames from a blast by the at-at. It would just set my adrenline rushing. Its all good though.
Eagle Warrior
i think taht there will be a lot of snowspeeders. since there weak and have to go for the which if you were smart would protect from snowspeeders and would have to wipe out the troops near the before taking on the:atat: directly
joesdomain
I personally think for the Hoth map that they include Y-wings and X-wings. That would be interesting to take down an AT-AT and AT-ST Walkers during the battle of Hoth. X-wings were able to fly in the environment in the film because you see them escorting rebel transports. tFighterPilot
No as in F"UCK NO! Snow Speeders only! X-Wings and Y-Wings didn't fight in the battle of hoth!
joesdomain
Seeing is how the maps are actually planet maps not Battle of Hoth maps it is interesting idea. It would terrible game just to be limited to Tauntauns, snowspeeders, and the troop classes. Actually a boring game! While empire can have it's troop classes, at-at walker, at-st walker, etc. If Rebels get a snowspeeder in the Hoth map then Empire is going to have to get at least some Tie Fighters. tFighterPilot
Hell no! Did you see any ties in the battle of hoth? Yet the empire won, that's because an AT AT can easially shoot down a Snow Speeder.
Ewok Homie
Naw, we dont x-wings and y-wings it wouldn't fit in with the movie. Plus huge long trenches is fun enough not to mention having turrets on the ground, echo base, snowspeeders, at-ats, at-sts(is a possibilty), and snow terrain which add great fun. Id rather be in the trenches of hoth while above me i can see the snowspeeders getting blown out of the sky. Id also like to hear the Loud thumping noise from the huge at-ats feet while they get closer and closer to the trench.
eastcoast2895
has there been anything said about what if there is only one person in the snow speeder? cuz someone may be waiting to drive a snow speeder and waiting for a gunner for a while or vice versa which isn't fun. i like how in soldner if there is noone to get in the vehicle with you, you control both gun and driving. then again there is the problem of people not wanting to be a team player and taking off without anyone in the speeder so they can control both. joesdomain
I think a bunch of people in here are making the assumption that the game with based solely on the all the star wars films. I have not seen a single star wars video game to date that stuck 100% with the movie. The way I have heard it is you can choose from any of the original trilogy starships or vehicles when you playing as either the rebels or empire. Not having X-wings, Y-wings, etc in the hoth map is boring! If they don't have them in the Hoth map then why would they have them in the Endor map or the Yavin 4 map or Tatoonie Map. None of those planets showed X-wings, Y-wings, and Tie Fighters during the movies.
tFighterPilot
Tatooine didn't have any war in it, so as far as I concerned, they can even put z-95s in there. Hoth, on the other hand, is the most importent planet, the coolest war of all!
Ewok Homie
Would you really want a y-wing flying in the air of hoth? I mean come on it turns its all into air combat. There would be no one in the trenches or fighting on ground. So i highly doubt there will be y-wings and x-wings on hoth it would be to much of a contrast between vehichles. However they might be on tatoonie since lots of other games have had them in the map such as rouge squadren(N64) ect. But you have to remember that this isnt just about vehichles its about battles on foot. Having numerous fighters per map and ground vehichles would not only allow everyone to fly but eliminate all chance of team work ect. I would definatly still play this game but, i like team based action and would most likely give it up within 2 weeks or less. Of course many people have different ideas this is only my opinion. Fleab
joesdomain your right it does sort of make sense for those other ships to be in there because they can handle that terrain. I respect your opinion but I sorta have a different view on things. I highly doubt that those other ships will be on this map. The makers have constantly stated that they want to base a lot of the levels off of the actually battles in star wars so you can recreate them. I'm sure you will agree that during the battle there were no x-wings, y-wings, or tie fighters. Other maps like tatooine there weren’t big battles so you aren’t as limited in that area. See what I mean? I also really disagree about it being boring that way. Just because you don't have all the nifty tools in one level doesn't mean it's boring. Just challenging. Snowspeeders are meant to bring down AT ATs so that’s why they will be in the map. But I really don't think it will be boring. Running around in the trenches having some snipers take out the infantry near the vehicles so the snowspeeders can finish the job. It's gonna be great. That is if it's done right:)
joesdomain
I also concerned on the hoth map if you base it off the movie, the two types of turrents used on the rebel base had no affect on the at-at walkers. I would hope they would not do that with the rebels turrents in the game. Then that means you could only beat the empire with snowspeeders and that stinks also. I played rogue squadron forever and still can't get the tow cable to snare the at-at walkers. What other rebel units would be at the rebel base besides tauntauns, snowspeeders and the individual troops? That seems very little units for the rebels. Another question? How would you counter the snowspeeders if you only had Imperial Probe droids, snowtroopers, at-at walkers, and at-st walkers? Other Lucasarts games such as Galactic Battlegrounds that had AT-AT's in it were poor fighters against snowspeeders.
