Colja
I am trying to make custom PC icons for a couple of my skins and everytime I alter them they don't show up. The thing I noticed that changes is the file size, so is that the reason and how do I correct this? THNX in advance.

svösh
Are you saving at 32 bit? with alpha channels? Take a look at the originals to see how they did it then copy the file and use your design instead start building on top of the original flatten them make your own alpha if needed if not I think the heads use a solid white chanel if I recall. all should work fine keep us posted or send them my way I’ll take a look at them if you want svösh

svösh
Glad I could help out Darth333 And don't bother making the image from scratch use a screen shot close up while talking is good just when the mouth is closed. crop the image close to the head and use Ctrl+T transform it to about 20 % constrained of the original size and use it as the pic of the head. I hope this helps a bit svösh

Why do you need to do that. When I made portraits for the PC's I added I just take screen shots of them, selected the part I wanted while making sure what I selected was square then I just cut it, and paste it in a blank image and resize it to 256 pixels square. then save it in 32 bit. svösh
The more times you have to resize the image it loses quality I paste my screenie in a new image it’s 1280x1024 holding shift and alt down with the selection tools will make your selection square from the middle out Shift will constrain and Alt will start it from the center . This is just the method I used and it worked so I figured I would share. By using the existing icon file I also don’t have to make a new image and find out the size of the originals. This way after cropping first then resizing the image in the 1280x1024 file I have to just gab the layer thumbnail and drag and drop it on the existing icon file it fits quite well that way, and I haven’ t had to resize again. For those that don’t know you can easily swap layers on images it makes things much easer then trying to rebuild some thing over also by resizing in my original image after cropping it I can line up both canvases side by side at 100% to see what size head I will need when I’m satisfied with the size I click it to set the transformation then drag and drop save and done it sounds like a lot, but it’s not
