The Outer Rim

The Outer Rim is a new clan that is looking for people to play all positions. We hope to be a clan that can have fun and achieve victory through superior strategy and teamwork.

I don't really want to be considered a leader so much, as I think that establishing ranks and a strict hierarchy is asking for internal corruption and fighting. I am currently running the clan, however.

"I love democracy... The power you give me I will lay down when this tragedy has abated!"

Anyway... The Outer Rim will play as all four factions, not only because they are all cool and interesting in their own way, but because only by playing them all could we get a full grasp of the game. We will, however, try to choose the factions that are most popular among our clan.

We currently only have three members, but we're just a few days old so that's ok. Anyone interested in joining should send me an email at tlarsen87@comcast.net containing the following:

Name: (At least somewhat Star Wars like. No profanity or Star Wars characters. (So no LukeSkywalker)

Preferred Position: (This should include not only the types of units you plan to play as, but also the army you would like to be in.)

Faction Ranking: (Please rank the four factions in order of how much you'd like to play as them. This will help us have an understanding of what faction choices would please the most people.)

There really are no major requirements for joining. No prior experience or skill will be necessary. What is necessary, however, is a friendly disposition willing to work as part of a team. Also, a certain degree of committment is expected. While understandably not everyone can play every game, players should attend all or nearly all of them.

No profanity will be tolerated in the Outer Rim.

The Outer Rim will be a North American, PC clan. While members from any country are allowed, they must be able to speak English and be willing to conform to North American time zones.

So, as I said, all positions are needed right now. If you're interested in this clan, go to its fledgling website at http://home.comcast.net/~tlarsen87/index.htm and look at the roster/strategy/clan info pages. If you're still interested after that, email me with the information above! We'd be very pleased to accept you into the clan!

(Oh and yes, I did take the idea about the different squads from Van Lingo. It's too good an idea to pass up, methinks. No offense intended, Van Lingo.)

Thanks for the comments. I'm still not sure on a new name. The Krayt idea is from Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. A cool idea in theory, though I don't know how well it will work in practice.

Hopefully as the game gets closer to launch there will be more people looking for a clan.

Thanks again...

You can be sure of that. Wenn the game comes out there are plenty of (even dutch) people who want to join.

But is nicer if you have a lot of members before the game reaches stores. You can start building up your community.

Easy Company? 101st starborne?

You've seen Band of Brothers haven't you? starborne, heheh...

Alrighty, a name... Well, it depends on what faction you'll be mainly. Like rebels could be Saboteurs in Action or something (Yeah that name sucks) while if you don't have a 'clan faction' you should choose another name... like Doom Regiment. (I suck at making up names.)
