Gray46032
Help, my computer has an extended shutdown time after installing JA and its update. Any ideas why?
Topsshot
If you're trying to install an illegal copy of the game, don't. Go out, buy the legal version, and install it, THEN do the upgrade. It should work without any problems from there on out...... If you don't have an illegal copy, then good, because a pirated version is crap. Crow_Nest
This kind of error isnt always caused by installing pirated JA. It could be the game just makes it take longer time to shut down. Sometimes its just fast sometimes its slow.
El Sitherino
if he doesn't have a pirated version, it's because windows is taking a longer time to save and store data after him playing it, and checking all files that had been recently saved to make sure they aren't poorly saved. Gray46032
I bought it off of Amazon, so I dont think it is pirated. lol who really knows. Is there anyway I could speed this process up?
Crow_Nest
Theres really nothing much you can do about it, unless getting a faster CPU Anyway, why would you bother so much about the shut down speed? I mean what is so good about shutting down a PC so quickly?
Gray46032
Because if I have to do a restart it takes forever.

Try comparing the speed now and before JA. If there is a BIG difference, then theres actually nothing you can do.

slider
perhaps this is not due to JA isntall at this moment there is a lot of denial of services on svchhost ports in windows perhaps one of them cause your problems you should try a firewall

Samuel Dravis
You could try using that cool utility for WinXP (TweakXP?). I don't remember the name, but you're supposed to be able to get rid of a lot of unnecessary processor usage with it...

This is interesting, because if I hit alt+ctrl+delete and check to see what my CPU is running, i have like 5 svchost.exe being run... taking up like 30 MBs of my RAM. It was the same on my last computer too. Not to mention GuardDog.exe is loaded 2 times... (Mines Win XP 512 RAM 2.8 Ghz) so im not really worried about this, but everyone can use a little more CPU power, and free RAM.
