Jorg Klein
I think that the discovery of the Lithium carbonite crystal on Hoth by Imperial scouts played a crucial role in the overrun of Echo Base. Please post your thought on how you think the echo base battle played out into the Empires favor.

Jorg Klein
It is the hoth crystals that give a laser sword it's power. That is why the creation of cortosis armor was such a threat to old republic and it's jedis, it was widely rumored that it resisted laser swords. Anyways, these crystals help empower the empires heavy weaponry causing echo base to be overrun and Princess Vespa and Lone Star to flee on the Millenium falcon. Luke forsaw this and knew that he must recieve additional training on dagobah before he could counter the increasing threat of this new technology.
