TheNet
Im thinking of buying a network adapter for $60 (Im in canada) and Battlefront for $50. The only way i am able to play my battlefront game is to move my tv upstairs (I want to play on my 57" Widescreen sony TV) which will be impossible. The reasen why is because my computer is all the way on the 2nd floor while my tv is in the basement. I really dont want to use my small tv cause it is to small to even see a wookie. Should I buy a 100ft CAT5 ethernet cable for $20 or go wireless an pay over $100 and go through the hassle of configuring. Or what are my other choices? Whoopknacker
You dont have a monitor for your computer? All this talk about TVs and Im thinking that you should have a monitor. But if you want the grand effect of 57 inch TV of fury: 1. Buy a wireless kit adapter and router, cha ching already. 2.Then move your computer downstairs to the larger TV, if your graphics card has a SVideo output you can plug that into a TV. THE BADGER:
Well I have my PS2 hooked up to my computer through a adapter, I can watch TV, or click a button and play PS2, or click a button and surf the Internet while I'm dead on SOCOM 2 and waiting for a new round to start. That way I don't have to buy a 100 foot cord or buy a expensive wireless kit. But it's up to you. You can buy a 100 foot cord(the cheapest, but you run the risk of lag) or do it my way the adapter($40 of ebay) or the most expensive(wireless). It's your choice, but if I had a 57" wide-screen I'd be damn sure to play on it no matter how much it would cost.. LOL

joesdomain
I think I might buy the Internet adaptor for PS2 just to play this game online. Good thing I am hooked up to an university's network to give me a T1 or T2 connection. I should be able to run it with that.
THE BADGER:
badger, can you email me at yaebginn@hotmail.com with specific instructuons or a link on how to do it the way you do? thanx. Yeah I'll see if I can find another on eBay. I got mine from a guy in Australia. So the Shipping was why it costed me like $40 total, but it was worth it, now I don't get ran from the living room cause my wife wants to watch tv. I'll email it to you when I get home from work today. And playing on my PC monitor is like a playing on a Hi-Fi tv, it's alot more crisp. It's cool, I had to get use to a smaller screen, 17'', but the picture makes it worth it.

joesdomain
Yeah, I got Windows 98SE Operating System so I probably couldn't hook mine up. Plus my Pentium is a Pentium III 667MHZ with a 8MB video card. I don't have a TV out.

gpete13
Im not sure of all this talk connecting with your PC. You dont need to worry about it unless you want to use it at the same time. For a broadband connection, you can either go direct from your cable/dsl modem to the network adapter for the best results. Or you can go modem to router and go from router to PC and network adapter. You can go wireless as well. With a connection like this you can go with a router and should have little lag, even with the PC being used at the same time. I have had no problems playing SOCOM II with the router, while the PC was downloading files. Somthing more of a direct connection with another user (like Madden), you want to go more straight to the modem with the network adapter. I tend to experience lag with an active PC on with the router.
THE BADGER:
I don't think I can hook my PS2 up to my computer. I have an out of date computer. You PC does not have anything to with the PS2, it's the monitor that is hooked up to the adapter. Then another cable goes to the CPU. Yeah I can surf the web and play SOCOM 2 online at the same time. I use a router, one cable gos to the PS2 the other to the CPU. Call your ISP to get another gateway and DNS configuration so you can do both at the same time. I have configuration for my PS2 and one for the PC. Below is a link to a adapter like I got of ebay so you guys can understand what I'm talking about. I paid $40 for mine. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3761&item=5110823953&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
