vulcan_sniper
Well, i saw the sand crawler, but the thing that got my attention was the stormtroopers piled up on the skiff with the Sarlaac waving its tentacles in the background. what i have been looking for in these forums is proof of the skiffs, and now that i have them.......ah, but this is off topic. I still want proof, however that you can actually drive the sandcrawlers. Maybe they are just civilian, non-controllable vehicles. agin, can someone show me some proof, because i am also intersted in the drivable fortress thing. dark jedi 8
it may be some kind of bonus, like the rebels have to defend it from the imperials who have to destroy it b/c they were looking for the plans to the death star and ended up destroying the sandcrawler in "a new hope". and rebels have to prevent the imperials from destroying the sandcrawler and finding the plans. just an idea. Doomie
Dude, it's a sandcrawler. A driving fortress. Jawa's need to be protected from tusken raiders adn karyt dragons on their journeys trought the dune sea, so it's got to have heavy armor. Add some holes to shoot from, et voila... headofdog
Maybe the map will feature a special sub-game. Imagine a checkpoint race with Sand Crawlers streaking through the desert in an all-out race to the death! Uhmm....maybe not.
Ice Demon44
I don't like the mini-game ideas. It would be nice if the jawas drove it around and you could hijack it though.
Doomie
If it's a drivable vehicle, it's probably a mobile piece of terrain like the carrier in BF1942. So you can walk around in it freely.
BobaFett123456
Cool, I bet they move reall slow though.
Virtuosis
What are you going to do? Run someone over with it? Launch a Jawa at someone? I mean I never saw any guns on those things so your fighting options are kind of limited.
JediJohn
does it have windows to shoot out of
DarkAngel619
Sorry to burst your exitable bubbles, but sadly the sandcrawler in the game is not drivable. It is just a CP. Though the skiff is a playable vehicle and is cool as it has a drivers position and 3 gunner positions. All the best from Bobby's helmet.
nortenyo
Bobby's Helmet is right, the Sandcrawler is only a setpiece. But think about it. Even if it were useable...how effective would it be with it being so damn slow!? But, if it were a moveable CP, and had VERY strong armor...that would be kind of cool. Like a giant tsunami that can't be stopped, getting from one side of the map to the other. Once it got to where it was going, you could release like a ton of jawas and maybe some makeshift kamakaze droids. just an idea.
0MERCURY0
I thnk there is ever possiblity that there will be jawas and a sandcrawler, the official site says that the maps include the native greatures I know hoth has the wampa so youd think they would include jawas on tatooine
DarkAngel619
Hi there 0MERCURY0, There are Jawas in the game. But not on the Desert level. Sand people are the NPC's for this one. Jawas can be found in Mos Eisley running around giving out powerups to whoever want one. I was going to put a pile of smoking dead jawas next to the Sandcrawler but we were struggling with memory so we dumped them. Oh and by the way, there is definately NO WAMPAS in Hoth any more. In fact it never got implemented. Again The coders just left it far too late to try and implement it and we were also struggling with memory to get this one in too. Its a shame really though cos out Wampa looked AWESOME!!! And would have been a great obstacle to get past in the Hoth tunnels. Oh well never mind. I am sure it will go in the sequel. Dragnarr
Now people, you see why I wanted the game to be released a bit later? Well you could hold out the PC version a bit longer and get wampas in it .
0MERCURY0
thanks for the info, shame about the wampa I was looking forward to a good wampa battle. is suppose the crwler would be a good sniping spot if you could get up there.
Virtuosis
Phew, Wamaps wouldn't have done any good in the first place.
