ZinC°hda Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 Dunno about everyone else but I think this game is gonna be my first one in which I'll play with the music actually on.
yaebginn Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 I may in singlre player, but it'll be tunred low. depdns on how I like it, maybe in multiplayer, too. but not if its too distracting. maybe just a low thrum to get me going. like, so I can really get itno it.
Doomie Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 I always play with music on pretty hard, especially starwars games...
Whoopknacker Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 Not that I dont believe you but where is it posted that they will play the music? If they do that will be awesome, however will everyone hear the same music? I mean wont it will weaken the morale of the opposing team when they hear the Imperial March or the Ewok attack music on Endor? We all associate the music with what was going on in the movie at that time.
ZinC°hda Posted August 5, 2004 Author Posted August 5, 2004 On the new site it has a play list which I imagine will be the music on each individual map. Infact I guarantee it as some of the tracks are very small and sound like they are loops.
Doomie Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 No, they will includes lotsa more music. Also, if you paly quiet, you will hear calm music, while if you're in the middle of a battle, you'll hear the IMP march and stuff... needless to say that everyone will not hear the same music.
ZinC°hda Posted August 5, 2004 Author Posted August 5, 2004 Wait and see, every game I've ever played online has had one peice of music per map (Sometimes shared) Maybe your confusing yourself with the single player mode which will probably allow the music to swing from mood to mood. Example :- On the new site there are two loops for each map Hoth - Rebel (0:28) Loop Hoth - Imperial (0:28) Loop These will play constantly, they wont add any mood swinging music I guarantee you for multiplayer mode. Only thing which will change is the ambient music such as crickets/birds/echoe's etc etc etc
Doomie Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 No, i'm not confused, and this is perfectly good possible!
Alegis Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 it has been confirmed i believe that the music chaznges with action, or am i wrong? the sw music is great, i'll play with it or my playlist pretty hard. In a gamelike this you shouldn't care about footsteps and such; its all basicly rushing
kailaurius Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 Well in SWG the music is exclusive for each player whether you're in the same planet/map or not as the other players. All they have to do is trigger the music depending on your location and sitiuation such as entering combat mode or entering a town, city, cave, etc. I know SWG is not a FPS but the technology is there and it seems pretty simple to do development wise.

As for the music playing loud, what if you are on ventrilo/teamspeak/ingame voice com? I like ingame music, but because of the need to talk and listen I usually have the music off or down to a minimum. In singleplayer this is obviously not the issue.
Darth_ToMeR Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 Sure i will. Star Wars music always give me motivation.
The Air Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 On for me. I hope they put the music into a .wav or .mp3 format so i can change it to different songs by renaming them .
GhostfacedKilla Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 Me ill leave everything alone an turn my tv up to a moderate volume. then crank up my headset so i can hear my allies.
reltes Posted August 7, 2004 Posted August 7, 2004 star wars music is about 50% of the overall star wars effect.
Doomie Posted August 7, 2004 Posted August 7, 2004 Especially the Imperial march. I've got the Battlefront site on right now, and everytime the march stops, i quickly press refresh...
