MeowTown Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 I heard there was a way to make a rocky cliff wall by using a certain shader that smooths out the protudences from the cliff, making it look good. If it exists, where is it and how do i use it?
EvilJedi Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 Just make a rock wall out of a patch mesh, or something..
MeowTown Posted August 23, 2004 Author Posted August 23, 2004 that didnt answer my question. does the shader exist?
Mercenary Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 Here's a tutorial: http://www.planetquake.com/simland/pages/articles/phongshading1.htm A lot of rock textures in JA already have the right shader for it. In Radiant, hold down the shift key and click a texture in the texture window and it'll bring up a shader file and you can look through it to see what code is used for that particular shader.
lukeskywalker1 Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 Yeah, things like rock_phong are supposed to be good for what you want. Supposed to be, I don't really notice any difference.
