How I get the pistol?

When I play bf, I see people using a pistol, mostly it's the vanguard, but now I've read that all classes have pistols, how can I get that pistol in my characters hands?

Alright so the weapons are divided in 2 slots, you got primary and secondary. Just use the scroll button or your next weapon button for the next primary (you got main weapon+pistol)

It's pretty much just a backup weapon for when you're out of ammo. It does the recharge thing like vehicle guns and droidekas. It's not very powerful, but it's pretty fast and accurate. It's only really useful for heavy troopers and snipers.

But It doesn't work, maybe when I use it on a other button.

The default, and that's scroll isn't it? But nothing happends, I'll try some stuff this evening

By default the keys for switching primary and secondary slots are

 

F (for primary, ie rocket launcher & Pistol) and G (for mines/grenades) - for vanguards.... the weapons vary pending on class.

 

Its not a bad setup of keys, the old W/S/A/D for up/down/left/right, so F&G just sit to the right... a tad annoying if you hit the wrong one tho!! LOL
