rut-wa jodar
Anyone who plays Singleplayer/Instant action will find this mod very useful. I have used a cheat maker to increase the amount of reinforcement points for all factions. I have made 1 mode that allows 500 reinforcements and another that allows 1000 reinforcements. If anyone is willing and able to host my mods,PM me or post a reply here. BTW ! it only works with latest 1.1 patch and is NOT multiplayer compatible. Daiko701
Are you the same Xander that did the Expansion packs for the clone and imperial factions? If so great work, and I have a question for you. Do you have a list of weapons and class names that can be used to add weapons to the other factions just as you did for the expansion packs? And if so would I be able to get ahold of a copy so I may be able to switch up a few weapons like you did, I would like to add weapons for the Rebels and CIS forces as well as do a few modifications on the Expansion packs of yours. (In the Imperial expansion none of the snow troopers have any of the swapped weapons nor does the AT-ST Pilot/driver, and I would like to rectify that situation:) ) Any help would be greatly appreciated in this endevour as I am just starting this modding adventure. I have never done anything like this before, as this is only my second PC game (my first is America's Army, which has no mods and does not allow them anyway) I would love a copy of the reinforcements mod as well (from rut-wa jodar that is)
lord_xander
yea, im the one that created those mods. However, i dont have a list or anything like that, what i did was experiment, i did notice that u cant give droid weapons to clone troopers, but u can give any clone trooper weapon to the clone troopers, i havent experimented giving clone trooper weapons to the droids, that might work, u can give ally factions any weapon from that era, so u can give ewoks anything from the gcv era. and you can give geonosians anything from the cw era. u can give wookies (the ones on kashyyk, not the smugglers) anything from the clone war era. Ive also found by experimenting, that you can give the imperial troops anything from either imperial or alliance sides, but u can only give alliance troops things from the alliance side. anyway, try doing some experimenting of your own, the quickest way to test something, ive found, if u edit ur file, then start up battlefront, then choose single player, non campain mode, and start up a level, u can see if it works or not, now this trick ive learnt only works with units that are not first on the list, so not the normal soldiers. if u start up a game, and are in the selection menu, look at the weapons ur modified unit has without changing to it, if u see a blank spot where a weapon should be, quickly quit back to the main menu before any spawn, because as soon as one spawns the game crashes. this is y u also dont select it to view its weapon. i hope all this helps, i can tend to ramble a bit at times, lol. and be sure to post any files that u make. and yea, its fine if u edit my files, but u dont really need my permission. Daiko701
I will give it a shot, thnx for the help and advice. As to posting my files I do not know how to make a patch, although I would like to learn, and the files are too big to just post. Any advice for the noobie in this matter. I am asuming that if you want to make a patch you must first compare the original .LVL file to the moddified file in order to set up what is to be modded?????? As I have said I don't know in this matter and perhaps my name should be Sir Askalot..................... hehe *Edit: I found the Droidekas Shield entry and changed it to +250 (wow is it cool, and you still get pummeled if enough troopers get a bead on ya lol) now the Droideka is a true tank that will scare the pants off of a Jedi just like PM E1. It now takes 4 straight EMP blasts to take out the Droideka and about 5-6 swings from a lightsaber to take em down:atat: Still working on the other factions weapons I'll keep ya posted.......... BTW I also played to see whether the sides were tipped in favor of CIS if I were to play against them, to answer not really although it is one hell of a fight:fett:

lord_xander
Isn't this patch software the problem that mods works only with US game versions? idk, what this program does, is it takes the original file, takes the updated file. compares them, and saves the differences, so idk, maybe if the original lvl files are different in each language, then yea its what causes it, if u still have trouble u could always ask nicley and they can post the actual updated lvl file. Rends
No we havn't found differences in the files. All looks the same. the only possible reason might be differences in date when thez were created. So long someone use this patch programm noone with non english Battlfefront version will ever be able to install one of the mods. I tried it with several mods but no one works. Same goes if someone from a different language version create a mod! The only mod i could install and run without trouble is the complete posted lvl file from Psych0freds unbound Bespin mod! I would be glad if someone knows a patch software that works without limitations. If the usage of this patch programm goes on i guess the mod community will be a short life one. Because you would be able to play only with people of the country were the mod was original created. Doesnt sound promising for a spreaded mod community... Servant
No swet, if this is true and full level would work for non-us people then tomorow I will release my mods as full levels in rar archive. Follow my link tomorow to download them. For your info naboo1 is about 7.7 MB in rar archive, so it is not so bad.
lord_xander
zipped up the mission.lvl is about 19 meg, so its a bit worse than naboo1 thats y u find alot of editors use that patch program for mission.lvl, because it reduces the size to about 70 kb, maybe not even that
Cpt. Bannon
what? mission.lvl fits on a floppy disk... other .lvl files are big though.
Servant
Mission.lvl is small and I dont even use it to change stuff (245KB) but if you change Mission.lvl you can also rar it (or zip it) and it is very small (33 KB) so you dont have to use patch tool at all. I guess due to non-us problems we have all future levels/mods will be posted as full level file (rar or zip archive)
