wassup
I can sympathize with the punishment for Artest and Jackson, for they crossed the "holy barrier" and into the stands, but from the footage that I have seen O'Neal remained on the court and seemed to be only defending himself from fan(s). Either way you slice it, thought, the Pacers have been seriously damaged by this event. If this teaches us anything, it's that even the smallest incident can have major consequences. ckcsaber
Originally posted by KBell For shame Mr. Stern, for shame Stern had to send a message of zero tolerance to avoid the NBA garnering a reputation like boxing has. With the black eyes basketball has endured recently, there really was no room to play around and risk becoming known to a lot of casual fans as a league of violent degenerates that the league can't control. That's not what the NBA is at all; and Stern made sure their reputation stayed somewhat in tact. He made the right call.
Kain
I wanna see a pro wrestler get pissed off at a real fan and beat them senseless. I'd laugh my ass off.
Mike Windu
I remember once when wrestling interested me, there was a wrestler who hit a fan because he ran into the ring and interfered or something.
Leper Messiah
Originally posted by Astrotoy7 Thanks Mike and Kbell he he he. sounds a riot.... reminds me of the Eric Cantona(Manchester United Player) incident from the 90s......... apparently some crowd member said something about his mum(??) so he leaped into the crowd and kicked him silly hahahahahahaha that was great, he got an eight month suspension for it, but it was great as he said after his retirement "I've got many fond memories from football, my favorites when I kicked the hooligan" by stingerhs ever heard of soccer riots??? i can understand why its a new thing here, but everyone in europe is probably sayin "bah, that was nothing." actually the cantona incident aside i cant recall a major confrontation between players and fans in recent times. the odd fan runs onto the pitch on rare occaisons, and we havnt had abig riot in a while now. americans seem to think for some reason that most if not all soccer games cause a riot, despite the fact that the world cup was held in the USA without any crowd trouble at all. riots are farely rare in football unless you happen to be in Turkey. oh and if a team called Millwall comes to play near you, stay away
