Kurgan
Looks just like the cover of "Hard Contact" but with some colored markings on the troopers. Interesting that the "look" of the troopers seems to have changed. Previously they were all a "metallic gray" (vs. the white troopers in AOTC). Now they seem to have faded/chipped colors like orange and red, etc. Obviously the troopers in RC have always been different than the AOTC troopers. Their helmets look more like the Clone Pilot's (more rounded, no decorative "fin"). They don't look like ARC troopers (no fancy capes, purple trim or extra backpacks). I was kind of thinking, okay, maybe this is due to the "team colors" thing, but we've heard that MP is going to be Trandoshans vs. Clonetroopers... I guess they just did this to make it a bit easier to distinguish troops from each other... Also interesting, compare the two pics. The extra trooper in the lower lefthand corner is positioned differently on each box. The Xbox version has his helmet smeared in a red substance (blood?) to a larger degree than the other soldier on the right. Now that I look at them more closely the "main" trooper is the only one who seems to have the distinctive colored markings. So I'm guessing that's what the player (YOU) looks like in SP, while the other troopers all look generic, and that's what we've been seeing thus far in screenshots. With no third person view (that we know of) you wouldn't be seeing yourself except perhaps in cutscenes.
Pho3nix
hmm, yeah weird Orange color, 'cuz Red is Captain, Yellow is Commander, Blue is sergeant and Green is Leutnant (Might not be correctly spelled) The Orange color is not used by the Old Republic , atleast not to my knowledge. adillon
i was under the impression the colored markings were there to distinguish the 4 main characters in your squad (yourself included). As you learn the commands, you'll meet up with your squad members, one by one. Your team includes DC 07, 40, and 62. That means pretty much nothing to ordinary humans, but to the Republic Commandos, that's everything. What's interesting here is that while all clones should be the same, they aren't in the slightest. They've evolved into distinct personalities and they've developed specialized means of combat. Your team is a perfect example. Fixer, Sev, and Scorcher are you teammates. Fixer is your hacker, able to open difficult doors and hack highly refined circuitry to serve your purposes. Sev's your sniper. You will command him to take snipe spots and blast the bolts out of crossed-eyed droids at will. Scorcher is your explosives specialist, who needs just a little time to plant bombs that break you into new passages, HQs, and otherwise impenetrable locations. All of these guys chat to each other a lot, and though some of the conversation is hackneyed, much of it is original and enjoyable.
eastcoast2895
they are, but i think what Pho3nix is trying to say is that the color code doesn't match the movies' meaning behind the color for each commando (which i think he got right). although the red trooper seems to have regular all white armor that he painted himself. looks like some artistic freedom was taken in this game. ZBomber
I thought the red was rust, it seems weird that there is that much blood on his helmet.
adillon
the more i look at the images of the commandos, and think about how they could relate to 'real world' examples, we need to remember these guys are the best of the best ... the truly elite of the clone troopers. even though these distinguishing markings don't necessarily coincide with the movies' meaning of what the color codes determine, if you look at current day green berets, navy seals, or even the airborne in WWII, they often put on 'war paint' or give themselves mohawks to differentiate themselves from the 'regular' grunts. i think this is why the RCs look the way they do ... and maybe why they go by nicknames instead of their alphabetical/numerical designations. Pho3nix
Could be. Let's agree on that.
Crimson5
One good thing for those getting pc version is if you compare the boxart the pc one looks more detailed than the xbox so could that mean the Graphics on pc are more detailed and better? Maybe?

Doomie
They're just two different pictures, though they're made to look like eachother. But they didn't alter it, it's just another picture. You'llk also notice details on the other troopwerrs, like shadows, that are different. Sorry, just had to make that remark.
Revan Solo
I mean that it is colored because the different soldiers has different colors on there armors. Look at the top of this forum, the soldiers are white. Look at the box art, the soldiers are colored.

Doomie
Oh, that's just to keep 'em apart. I mean, how else can you keep clones apart? Since these clones are all special, ya need to be able to tell them apart, right?
ZBomber
If this was accurate to Star Wars, they wouldn't be colored liek that. However, in order to make this game fun and easy, you'll have to mark the clones in order to tell them apart. There really isn't any other reason other than that.
